Vanity items is what the cash shop should be for. That's how they make money by offering exclusive items and I hope they do more things like this and don't listen to the "wah wah I can't have this unless I pay real money!" You don't have to have every item ever made. There is nothing entitling you to have everything for free either when it's completely optional like vanity items such as character costumes and furniture.

They make money from our $15 a month subscription costs and the highway robbery cost of having to hire 3+ additional retainers every month to store all the crap we get in game. Cash shop is just double dipping from stupid people.

I don't like cash shop exclusivity for one. I recall Yoshi-P once saying it would only have the fantasias and my sister and I saw even back in 1.0 during that live letter that it would progress into more and more items.
Another thing I don't like is Cid's gear is gender specific so if you're not a guy you can't use it.

Minifilia"s gear is gender specific aswell and I dont like it. But this is how SE has decided they will release their outfits. I wonder if Aymeric outfit + hairstyle.. will it be male or unisex? If its not male exclusive, then we know that the favouritism is very real.

Honestly, I was under the impression that SE would never add furniture to the cash shop due to the fact that furniture has a tendency to explode should anything ever happen to your house.

That said, I don't feel that glowy re-skins are worth real money. On the other hand, if they created wholly new furniture that was cash shop exclusive, that would be bad for another reason altogether.

So is the logical fallacy. The devs have said multiple times that they don't want the cash shop to be pay to win and will be restricting it to vanity items only, and yet people insist on waving around this particular brand of fearmongering.

The devs have said a lot of things they've completely turned around on. Take their word with a grain of salt.
