I use the airships to save gil, too. However, the option to take an airship 'tour' or 'the scenic route' would add something fun for people to do while still allowing Scrooge McDucks like myself to save gil and get from A to B relatively quickly.

Finding stuff under your pillow or having nightmares when logging back in at the inn sounds cool, pity that was removed.

Personally, I'd really like to be able to log out and trigger the 'going to bed' cutscene in my room, and the waking up one too.
That's my one regret about getting our FC house, I always log back in to find my character standing outside staring sadly at the front door.

These are my exact feelings too. I haven't bought a room at my FC because you don't get those scenes. I don't RP in any way, but there is just something about logging in and out of bed that appeals to me (I even have the nightgown set as a logging out gear set just because).

Maybe grant rested EXP at an accelerated rate if one logs out in the inn? I mean it would make sense; actually going to bed would leave one more rested that simply logging out withing 100 feet of a teleport spot.

Actually lore-wise I'm wondering why we don't have this yet, especially since we saw Highwinds Enterprises negotiating for it back in the Ixali Tribe questline. Are there just still too many dragon attacks to make it viable or something?

I'd like a stop in Ishgard too. I do hope they aren't abandoning airships and ferries completely, they are a nice feature.

There might actually still be the "Ishgardian borders are closed" lore reason for us not to have an airship landing in Ishgard. I forget, has the Holy See been opened to foreigners again?

Also, I do believe this is better for the General Discussion sub-forums since, lore-wise, people still use airship and boat travel, since most people don't quite earn what we adventurers do (pretty sure some omni-crafters could compete with Lolorito. Inns was a QoL thing since not everyone liked going back to their inn rooms for the rested exp, I know my boyfriend on a PS3 wouldn't like to deal with about 2-3 loading screens before finally logging out...

I believe airships serve their purpose already for low levels, but Inn houses could use a rework perhaps. I think rested exp would be a great addition to Inn houses, but only if Inns were placed in many more camps aside from only the main cities.

What are some things you think the inns and the airships could be used for? I do wish rested exp was just in the Inns or FC houses. They took something away from the game when they put it nearly everywhere.

What about the citizens that can't use aether? They HAVE to use airships, ships, chocobos etc only!

I dunno if it was already stated in the lore, but i always thought that adventurers and the military were able to use the Aetheryte Crystals because they were born with huge chunks of aether in them or simply have a knack to control their aether flow. In the first case, it would explain why most common folk is unable to use the Aetheryte Crystals. In the later, it's not exactly something that you can't learn how to do, but it is simply too daunting an task for someone who don't have the "gift" or even the patience to learn how to do. For someone "normal", learn how to control your aether flow would take YEARS, unlike someone who has the knack for doing it naturally that can learn how to do it in months or so. Dunno!

I'll draw Anonymoose's magick circle and summon him to iluminate us on the question *goesaftersomechalkandcandles*
