Thanks! It took me about 1h30 of tries +- before winning, but its kinda like the difficulty is random, there's that one time where i got the item that increases stats + the item that dont make you loose stamina and i used SUPER SPRINT for nearly THE WHOLE RACE and still didnt win, the NPC was faster than me on super sprint for nearly the entire race... so ridiculous

My second experience with the challenge was that the npc was just consistently strong. For the first 9 races we just kept ending up with him ahead by a half second, no matter what combination of items I tried on him. And the course is pretty bare, so there aren't that many opportunities to slow him. Finally though he stepped in a morbol and that was enough.

If at the start of the race it is raining and you don't have a Foul Weather Chocobo just give up and watch some TV, there is zero chance of catching the lead NPC(s). Their chocobo has to be Foul Weather as it gets such a bonus to its speed its impossible to catch up to. Stupid how racing in this game favors Foul Weather so much, you are at such a disadvantage if your chocobo is not that weather type.
