Indeed - Your post is an outcry for homogenization within the races for example.

I find the identity argument fairly weak, personally - we could remove glamour from the game because it takes away from the identity of the jobs, which is particularly true for pure glamour pieces that everyone can wear. It's ultimately the same argument, you restrict people's choices in order to preserve a certain identity at the cost of individuality of the player - but hey, if the players aren't, at least the jobs are individual. The same principle here.

I really see no value in it. It's not even immersive to have every single member of a race exhibit the same personality in their body language and NPCs not giving a flying F about the restriction doesn't help there. It's actually pretty immersion breaking. I can't wrap my head around the idea that having less options somehow homogenizes people less than more options either. It's like trying to press the square through the round hole - it just doesn't wanna fit.

You talk nonsense, emotes are natural movement representations that every single humanoid character can perform, they cannot be race exclusive because everyone else could do them if we weren't restricted!...

Besides that, all I'm asking for is Square Enix to give us Miqo'te Lalafell's sitting positions (emotes), races will not extinguish because of this!...

While you feel it has little value and devalues the experience as a whole as you seem to put it.

I find the unique characteristics of each race assists players in identifying the character they want to play. I'll take FFXI as a example as it had a much more diversified set of animations and stances for each races mainly because each race had their own style they did everything from walking to casting to the way they held every weapon type in the game.

Elvaans for example from the regal Sandoria were a proud noble, if not outright snobbish race. Everything about them screamed those facets it gave them flair and fit the worlds lore. The world we knew of in Vanadiel was a a pretty compact universe so to speak so the whole race specific identities was very integral to the setting and characterization of the entire world. I felt more connected to my character because I liked how he was unique in ways that others were not. If everyone can do everything nobody is special sort of way.

Also in XIV it's not like the races are totally homogenized themselves either we do have several options within a race to vary the characters slightly while retaining their cultural identity such as sub-classes and several different idle animations.

I'd personally love to see the races expand upon their unique traits instead of being slowly stripped of them. Different folks for different folks I guess right?

I wouldn't mind seeing some new shared poses/positions introduced, but the fact that OP is very specifically asking for Lalafell emotes to be added only to Miqo'te smacks of a brand of special snowflake syndrome that just kinda makes me facepalm.

Pfft no. Somehow my reason fantasia from Highlander to Roegadyn is because Highlander pose is no longer unique like before. I can't brag the pose anymore after Hildebrand's quest comes like, when I do /pose, other replies with /hildy.

It wouldn't hurt the game because we already have sitting "emotes" from a single other race, Miqo'te has Au-Ra's, Au-Ra has Lalafell's, Lalafell has Au-Ra's, now give us Miqo'te Lalafell's to close the cycle!...
