It has been a roller coaster for me, and I do not feel like it is measuring my skill really at all.

Feast seems to be more of a luck of the draw measurement rather than how good you are at pvp. Are you lucky to get with not new/not disconnecting people? Great! Enjoy your gold+. Bad luck? Ah, silver or bronze is for you.

Enjoy your gold+ and then get demoted again! But yeah, I feel the same way. I've already quit the feast, save for 8v8s every now and then for funzies.

That would explain why I haven't seen you lately, lol. When you find a competent healer in there, you tend to remember them more than the others, heh. It definitely does feel more like a battle against RNG than the actual players though, honestly. I was already #9 on the server on the second day (one of the handful that reached silver), then I plummeted due to a losing streak, lost my silver, and dropped 61 ranks (the most of any player on that day), iirc. Afterwards, I moved up a little bit, got my silver back, then my rank improved a little. On the following day, I got stuck with terrible teammates again and was winning maybe 1 every 3-4 matches. By the end of that day, I wasn't even in the top 100 any more.

I somehow managed to keep silver, but just barely. I finally called it a day, then just queued up again the next day. From there on out, I've been hovering between 500-700 points. It feels like I'm constantly taking one step forward, then two steps back. Every time I manage to find a good team, I get two bad teams right after that and it screws me over. It feels like (especially on Primal, since our points are terrible compared to other servers right now) I'll meet a good player out of every 5 I see.

So, there are definitely a lot more scrubs/noobs/etc. than there are actual good players, so the odds of getting a good team are rather low (I'd guess somewhere in the 35-40% range). Take tonight for example. Time after time again, they kept putting a new/unranked healer on my team while the enemy kept getting silver healers, so they've got a hell of a lot more experience on the battlefield.

Not once did I ever see an unranked healer on the opposing side tonight. I always got them. Mind you, I played for a good 4-5 hours or so too. It really makes me wonder if there's some kind of algorithm which sets up with specific people because it is rather suspicious that the top 10 ranked players right now don't have to deal with said people.

They continue to win and maintain their ratio because they're not constantly given the new healer or anything like that. Any time I've ever played a top 10 player, they were queued up with another gold while we had like 3 bronze and 1 silver on our side. It's like they have this incredible amount of luck which constantly pairs them up with competent players for some reason. They might as well be in party ranked since it always feels like they're running with a premade and they're hard as hell to fight.

If it was just a skill thing, I'd completely understand. I'd simply say "Oh. Well, they're better than us, so of course their party is good.", but when you're never paired up with the gold member or top 10/5 players and you always see them on the enemy side, it really makes you wonder if something else is at work here. I wish I knew what was causing this phenomenon.

It could be a specific server time, Eorzea time, maybe the first letter we chose in our name, our race, I'm not really sure. It definitely feels like it's controlled by luck though and nothing will be able to prove me otherwise. I have a 14 loss streak I'll always remember from this season. You try to tell me that queuing up with the same bad players that many times in a row is fair. Go ahead.
