What happened to the "recipe book"?

I believe a dev post in Reinheart's translation thread talked about them adding an NPC that either gave you recipes or remembered recipes for you, presumably to put them in your "last 8" list or whatever number it is at the moment. No mention of when they would be implemented, though.

Really hope that's false, that is one of the lamer ideas I have heard. Having to run to an NPC? What's the point, may as well just print out or keep a recipe page up on a internet browser at that point.

Well they said we might like the NPC so much that we would probably not want a recipe book, so I was guessing it would be a summonable NPC of some kind like how we have the Chocobo whistle to call a Chocobo.

I hate switching windows to look up stuff so I would probably use it if that was the case.

In XI I had a hand written notebook of all the things I'd need because I could never get windower to work. ): At least we have Yellow Gremlin and a windowed option. I'm never crafting 24/7 so it's nice to pop up a website for the recipe and to see that and the NPCs that sell things.
