    I don't get it

    Had an Antitower run, the party was a paladin, astrologian and two BLMs, me being one of them. I thought this would be over in an instant, I mean, all this FIRE, and these EXPLOSIONS. BOOM! ...yeah, that's what I thought, in fact it was one of the slowest Antitower runs I've ever had.

    The paladin did the biggest pulls possible, which is fully okay, specially with all this BOOM! among the DPS, but they struggled holding aggro against anyone and never used any other cooldown than Hallowed Ground.

    The astrologian used damage spells, but never turned Cleric Stance on, so they actually just wasted a lot of mana. They never used Aspected Benefic or Aspected Helios either and used a lot of weird cards. Like, AOE Ewer and AOE Spire. Once they drew a balance AND USED SHUFFLE TO GET A FREAKIN BOLE, I cried.

    The BLM was the worst. Built up their Astral Fire stacks one by one as they never used Fire III, in Umbral Ice they mostly spammed Blizzard III, used Flare while in Umbral Ice and at full mana, randomly used their buffs and barely used Enochian. And when they did, they cast three Blizzard IV in a row before using Transpose and then casting Fire IV with that single Astral Fire.
    ... ... ...at least they weren't one of these infamous ice mages.

    This is the 4th time this month I lost a tank or a healer in a dungeon, and everyone silently bailed within minutes--even when I had a replacement on the way. Even when I told them there was a replacement on the way.

    I think I'm done doing anything for randoms. I call in experienced players and raiders from my circle, too, who can get us through quickly and efficiently. Instead, my friends get put into the wrong in-prog, stop what they were doing, or log in for nothing.

    Have it your way, DF. Let's waste the time we all spent in queue, together.

    On the topic of MCH using LBs when there's a DRG there: I got Dzemeal Darkhold for my leveling roulette. It was pretty by the numbers run, went through the first part, killed the first boss, wiped in the giant room, killed the second boss, and then during the third part at the three skeletons before the boss the MCH decides to LB. And I used the LBs at the start of the boss fights, so I figured he just wanted to use it or whatever. It's just DD, no big deal. But then, he used it again as soon as it filled up on the third crystal. Seemed pointless.

    But on the brightside, I ran The Vault for fun and to get some actual experience. I went in and both the tank and other DPS were new. Me and the healer explained the boss mechanics to them and it was on the smoothest run I've ever had there. That healer was awesome. And I got a new spear out of it.

    It's a jab that every time people discuss DPS (Damage Per Second), some loud moron invariably makes a comment that they can do whatever the floating number they see is, and that it is better. Basically they think that their one time hit is their DPS.

    "You only do 1.5K dps! I can do 8K!" Referring to their buffed, critted, most potent attack.

    Just spent over an hour in A8, trying to get to the final stage and once we get there, hitting enrage at around 75%... But at least everyone had a good sense of humor about things and no one raged or started a vote abandon after the first wipe, so I guess that's a win. ^^

    Long images:

    Tank = blue
    White = ninja
    Red = fellow party member
    Black = others.
    (That big long black bar in the middle of the first screenshot is one of my linkshells.)

    [EDIT]My retainer with the hat I got, just as further proof. .-.

    I had the misfortune of dealing with this tank just now.

    The hat dropped from Sawtooth in VA and I rolled greed on it. I didn't need it, but my 2nd retainer is still using i190 because I'm still a bit Eso starved after getting my relic and trying to catch my DPS up with some accessory upgrades. So I decided to roll Greed rather on Need because if I didn't win it, then oh well.

    I rolled an 84 and I saw that I outrolled the tank. I was pretty okay with that since he had been all like "friggen monks" in the Alliance chat because he got hit with Sawtooth's spray after they were standing too close together and he lost his precious deepz. I thought that was pretty rude, but that was just my personal opinion at the time.

    We go through the 2nd last boss just fine. But on the last boss, this tank decides to throw a hissy fit, even though he never said anything about wanting the hat at all. Not to mention that this was more than 10 minutes after it even happened and he didn't try to kick me, so I don't understand why he was so salty? And he lost the other item too, but I'm the one who he decided to yell at. Because... why not, I guess?

    Anyway, after I said I didn't roll Need, the Tank (who was MTing) decided to stop popping defensive buffs and stand in every AoE in an attempt to wipe, I guess. I'm pretty sure he wanted to vote kick me. So I'm really half-heartedly paying attention to his abuse between the macro spamming and my healing now, only typing when the boss is invuln. So since I'm not really able to pay 100% attention, dude decides that I must be stupid because I ended up repeating him. And not considering the fact that, you know, I was spamming heals on him because he's trying to tank in Deliverance with Vuln stacks and 0 CDs (other than his DPS increases).

    After 4 minutes of this guy bitching, someone else in the party tells him to st*u and he lashes out at them too! My lord. So I backed up this other party member. Finally the run was over and the tank gives his final goodbye and leaves. Thank goodness he wasn't on my server.

    [EDIT2] Oh, and I got 5 commendations after that run. I guess everyone else in the party was sick of the dude's BS. XD

    My usual plan for using my LB in dungeons is that if it's before the 2nd boss, and there's a pull with a lot of trash, it's fair game for me or a mage to use it. And some times during the 2nd boss as well if there is a lot of trash. After that I'll save it for melee to lb2 the final boss. Except for stuff like Ifrit HM or WoD, at that point I want to see my LB3 and I'm gonna try and use it.

    Decided to finally start leveling my NIN last night, so I queued for Brayflox. After twenty-five minutes, I get in. I'm a 32 NIN, there's a newbie 32 WHM, a 32 MCH, and a 38 PLD.
    The tank doesn't seem to really know where to go sometimes and says so, so I try to guide him a bit by going slightly ahead and stopping in the right direction whenever he stops for a while-- I don't wanna step on his toes too much.
    We wipe at the first boss when the tank dies-- and this is literally the first time I've ever seen a wipe for that boss, but hey, mistakes happen. The healer says they ran out of MP, and we try again and clear.

    I start noticing soon enough that regardless of whether or not I'm using CDs, I automatically rip aggro from whatever the tank is hitting by hitting it only twice. I tell the guy it's easier to keep aggro if he does a shield lob + flash when pulling (as opposed to just running into a mob and then flashing a second later), and he's pretty good about it. It somewhat helps, but the MCH is grabbing aggro from everything else and adds are flying all over the place, so I eventually start casually marking whatever the tank hits first as '1' and we finally start burning one add down at a time.

    Then we get to Aiatar and wipe a few times, and each time, the tank dies, the healer runs out of mp, and then we all die. And it's weird, because the tank is dodging the aoes and sort of staying out of the puddles.
    And I keep grabbing aggro from him with a few hits even when half-assing my rotations, and whenever I stop to let him grab aggro back, the MCH gets it and Aiatar starts moving back into the puddles.
    Finally check his gear.
    The left side has some empty slots, and the rest of them have ilvls in the teens or low twenties. Oh.
    I tell him it'll really help with defense if he equips the tank drops that he got from the chests this run, and he tells the healer to esuna the poison dots off instead of healing through them.

    And then we miraculously cleared! Got three commends; it made my day a little.

    I was honestly kind of worried that we wouldn't be able to beat Aiatar, but I'm glad we stuck through with it.
    I'm no mentor, and I was a little uncertain about offering advice or taking the initiative for some of these things since I know some people don't like it, but I appreciated that the whole group was so patient and good about things, even with the wipes. I've seen DF parties where some people quit after a single wipe on anything, but at no point during the run did anyone make a snide remark or blame anybody! It was really refreshing to see.
