The only thing I can think of is giving Odin some new fresh air. Everyone just looks at him and walks away.

Zantetsuken in this game is closer to a katana in design. In other words, a weapon of eastern origin and generally not a sluggish or messy weapon, unlike how their European counterpart is usually portrayed. DRK movement while using their great swords are more akin to that western "pure strength" type of look. I'd imagine any FF7 Masamune type of variant is on reserve for SAM.
Of course, this is PURELY from the perspective of wanting something sleek like the 1h sword we have. If people would be okay with some thick blade like DRKs normally get, it'd be another story. It'd probably be a Gold Saucer item, if anything, unless they reintroduce Odin somehow.

If they were to do it, it would probably be via the same way for the PLD version: Get 5 of Odin's fate tokens and trade em in at Mor Dhona.
Personally I don't see em doing it, but it wouldn't make me go into a holy rage or anything.

Not really.. katana is always a one sided blade whereas greatswords are a huge double edged sword. And dont get me wrong swords can have double edges two we see it all the time but greatswords are thick as hell they arent thin like PLD swords or katanas which are thin and fast cus drk isnt about fast if i saw adrk swinging around a katana that slowly id say they look stupid.
I get it i say large sword youpost a picture of sephiroth how cou ld i expect anymore on the forums but a katana i

you can already convert 1hand<>2hand allagan weps, so i don't see why not zantetsuken.
also there's plenty of simple 2h-weps, like Balmung, so zantetsuken being slim, isn't really a viable reason to not add it.

Western swords/greatswords is anything but sluggish or messy considering the design of katanas have stagnated for thousands of years versus the ever evolving and changing blades of the west.
That aside, Zantetsuken can work either way and the general definition of a greatsword is 'a really big sword'. Zantetsuken is moreso a "really big sword" than a katana which is usually in between a big sword and a regular sword; atleast in the real world anyways.

What we really need are Odin & Behemoth based weapons for all roles, period. I have over 50 Odin mantles and a little less Behemoth horns collected just in case they introduced something new to the fights.

Huh, was not aware of that, mind you i rarely go to the Gold Saucer, but was speaking back when people would actually do Odin, and as it stands now....
I remember when someone would call out Odin Fate and half of the server would join into the fight just for everyone to wipe by Zantetsuken at 1%. Good times...goood times.

I like when people use the "it isnt thick enough/one sided blade" excuse when DRK has Balmung and its Law weapon

Kinda true
Look at Zantetsuken:
Vs DRK Lore.
It's not hard for them to make slight alteration (or not) to Zantetsuken so that DRK's can equip it. Many DRK weapons are already enlarged swords or daggers
