That's the thing, buying/selling is against the rules apparently(really need a public statement by SE) and he wanted to sink all members involved in the transaction regardless so the money is not going to anyone which is fair if the items do belong to the poster's.Correct me if i'm wrong, When the FC leader ditches(Can't login for X period) Leadership gets transfered to the second highest rank(The one below the FC leader)
So if i'm correct here, Its kinda his fault for having a crappy 2nd in command.
Can't blame the other guy for buying the FC/house regardless what happened with it.
Character with the greatest amount of time in the FC, at least thats what I thought.Correct me if i'm wrong, When the FC leader ditches(Can't login for X period) Leadership gets transfered to the second highest rank(The one below the FC leader)

Not exactly:
From the 2.2 patch notes: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...fb8139b3464da/
So basically it looks at all the people in the FC who logged in the past 7 days and gives it to the highest ranking of them. If there's two people in the same rank who logged in the last 7 days, I'm unsure what happens, but it probably gives it to the one who logged in most recently. In the event a free company master does not log in for 35 days (Earth time), ownership will be automatically transferred to another free company member, based upon the following criteria:
1. Members who have logged in within the past seven days
2. Higher-ranked members preferred
3. Senior members preferred
* After the transfer, the former master will automatically be demoted to ordinary member status
And when it says ordinary member status, it means the default joining rank.
It's a very grey area, one SE seem reluctant to clarify as then it would mean people can't privately swap houses with friends if they outright said every house trade was bad, but in this case they didn't sell the house. They sold the FC which happened to come with a house (which as far as I know is okay and people seem to do it a lot?). I know it's a small detail, but it's quite a difference (still sucky though), but it's not the new persons fault, they bought in good faith.

Selling or Buying a house is not against the tos on EU Chaos data center but is against tos on the US data center.
Because is not the same team of GM on the two EU or US data center.
Here on Moogle by exemple you have all the day or week a few house for sale of buy in the pf party ^^
Tu brille aussi fort qu'un miroir de bordel
Just curious when it was made against the TOS. Does anyone have a link? As far as I knew, it was frowned upon but not against TOS. If it is against TOS, perhaps this person can in fact get their FC house back.
It's not specifically stated anywhere in the tos, it is all on how the individual GM interprets the tos. The NA gms seem to be the ones who think its against, from what I hear the EU and JP gms take no issue with it. SE refused to make a public definitive statement about it so until they do its up to the individual gm who gets your complaint.
While I'm still kinda new to the game, I think the buying / selling of houses or Free Companies is only against TOS if it's for real life cash. This is typically the setup most MMO's use because it's then taking cash away from the game devs. In this particular instance it's being sold using in-game money, not money used for yourelf in real life. This is likely the grey area which is causing the people behind the scenes to be confused or do deeper research possible into the scenario.
Regardless, it does suck. Hope you can at least get your things back.![]()
Id like to get a statement from SE on this cause if it is against the ToS they need to stop all of them. There is like 5-10 on balmung a day. Dont get me wrong i dont think it should be against ToS but they cant pick and choose which ones they will stop.
Been 4 months now lol.

Again, house selling is not technically against the TOS (in any region). What is against the TOS is scamming. Some NA GMs are choosing to interpret housing plot owners selling their plots to other people as a scam. It's not that there is a difference in the TOS in different regions, or that new changes have been made to the TOS, it's just a matter of how the different GMs in the different regions choose to interpret the TOS.Selling or Buying a house is not against the tos on EU Chaos data center but is against tos on the US data center.
