According to one of the dev posts here the matchmaking system will be different than what we have now. So actually nah, Diamond teams cant just fight bronze and silver teams indefinitely, let alone farm them.Simple. Make rewards that are not exclusive to the top grinded points. This kind of thing isn't an issue in game's with higher population, but since Diamond teams can just farm lower ranked teams indefinitely for points, the issue arises. Honestly I think they should have experimented with less exclusive rewards (EX: Reward based on highest achieved tier in the season, not placement in points)

Incorrect. First, the new system will prioritize teams within 2 tiers. This means that the much more skilled Diamond teams can still farm gold teams. While this isn't quite the same as farming unranked/bronze, it's still poor matchmaking but I understand the reasoning behind it.
Second, this only PRIORITIZES the teams into this matchmaking. If you are the only Diamond~ team queued up in that bracket, you will simply have a longer queue and eventually get matched with a lower tier team, Silver-Bronze-Unranked.
This is not a big deal. The disparity between gold/platinum to diamond is nowhere near as big in skill level as unranked/bronze/silver to diamond. Yes ideally it would be best to keep matches within the same tier bracket but with the PVP population being so small anyway they had to compromise. Im sure their matchmaking algorithm will attempt to first build the match within 1 tier anyway before drawing from a tier up and a tier down.Incorrect. You are the one making incorrect assumptions here. How are you trying to pass this off as fact when the devs posted this? Unless your a member of the dev team so you have an idea as to what what they are leaning towards? Because as they worded it no you cannot fight an unranked/bronze/silver team as a diamond team in their currently planned design unless they decide to change it later on due to insufficient dispersion of teams among the ranks.
PvP Ratings and Matchmaking
Patch 3.26 will see the start of Season One, and at that time we will be changing the matchmaking algorithm to ensure that you are more likely to be matched with player in the same or an adjacent tier, and only within a range of three tiers (For example, a match might include players from the bronze, silver, and gold tiers only).
However, as this will increase matchmaking times, we are currently debating whether or not we should expand the range of eligible players if a given period of time passes without finding enough participants. At the moment, we do not wish to utilize this solution, as ideally we would like all matches to be held within the same tier.
