While we're at it, how about some more facial hair options? I see a lot of anime/video game based hairstyles which is all good and all. But how about facial hair? They are more race locked than hairstyles and make even less sense as to why.

Well, I don't really see many races getting that much more hair facially. Maybe for the older Miqo'te face and Elezen for example. However I'd like body hair on Miqo'te males.

I'm for keeping the few race AND gender specific hairstyles locked. They really do give the classes their own flare. For example the bad ass ponytails that Highlanders get.

The issue is though, why can't other classes have that. It doesn't look very highlander specific due to their lore and such. It looks like a hairstyle everyone can have.

All hairstyles for all races and genders! If we're going to save the world, we should at least be able to "do/wear" our hair however we please (within the limitations of what's available to us).

All the races could use a ton more facial hair options, even if we look into actual people there are many styles of beards and mustache combinations we could have.

Hyurs could be more Nordic similar to Skyrim.
Elezen could have more long elegant designs.
Roe could have access to more scruffy looks.
Miqote could have a mix between scruffy and Nordic styles.
Lala could have more Asian inspired styles.

There needs to be more customization all around, can't really ask more of thing over another.

Exactly. Which is why if the lore allows for turtles to fly, it surely should allow races to know how to style hair like each other.

Locking hairstyles based on gender and race is so absurd.

IMO it adds to distinction and differentiality (that is not a word but I couldn't think of a proper word lmao). It's kind of like that Races Brand. For Example as a female roe, I love the race/gender specific hair styles we get, it adds to our diversity and makes us that much more different. I would be upset if other races got our hair styles. But that's just me.
