i see nothing wrong with the art direction of the weapons at all
i tried to openmidedly listen to the "complains" here just to find out they were just a serious case of our little friend here

Please consider those weapon drops from ifrit. When i saw them i thought they were made by a fanboy or somethig... Be creative SE look back on FF10 and FF tactics. I was so motivated when i saw the ifrit battle teaser. then when i saw the loot, I literally said WTF. same old ugly weapons with fire skin... Grrr. am done talking.

The weapons are good. I see nothing wrong with it because they look like they actually came from Ifrit. A beast. Have you seen the Ifrit Blade from Final Fantasy XI? /slowfacepalm

I am starting to wonder if these people that say they don't match with the art direction, got there hands on Garlean tech and appearances. We would have Eorzean Airships mass attacking us instead of the massive high fantasy/sci fi looking and feel airships and weapons that the Garlean's have. "but oh it fits in the lore because 50 years ago they got a tech revolution and thats why" so my rebuttal is, "Why can't Eorzea do the same thing?" I am sure in their world people are going wow Garlean tech is impressive we must start making High Fantasy/sci-fi weapons to combat them. Oh wait..... they already do... coughcoughgarlondironworkscoughcough. So expect in years to come we will start having unique Garlean looking things to fight with, but they aren't the a-typical eorzean weapon and armor.

Again I state if you think Ifrit's weapons are against art design then they in turn have to redo all of the Garlean Empire because they don't follow the same Eorzean art design.
