It's not always about not being able to get a smartphone, it could also be about simply not wanting one. While I quite like my smartphone, I have a number of friends that stay with their old phones. Why? Well there are several reasons. And while, granted, none of them plays FFXIV, that doesn't mean there are not players that simply feel better without a smartphone.Not having a smartphone these days, while apparently having the luxury of being able to play this subscription based game, is extremely rare. We're not talking about the 90s here, nor are we even talking about the early 2000's. In this day and age, teens (the age minimum for this game) generally have smartphones. It's almost an expectation these days. Again, teens, not infants/toddlers/etc.
I am neutral towards the whole discussion.
Sorry, I assumed too much when asking a simple question with an obvious answer based on the fact that you have an account and character made. I'd love to have that conversation with you.
It's the same thing though. I have a coworker who doesn't want a smartphone, and thus does not have one. Doesn't change the fact that it's a minority situation, with an even smaller pool of numbers to grab from within this games population. Withholding a beneficial QoL improvement, if they were to do it (which I doubt they will), because of something like that is just outright stupid.It's not always about not being able to get a smartphone, it could also be about simply not wanting one. This is coming from the fact we already have something like the mobile security keys for smartphones out there, and it benefits smartphone users, but doesn't benefit others. They could get the physical token, but they have to pay for it, versus smartphone users who get it for free. Not entirely a fair situation. What about the people who want the free teleport benefit of the security token, but don't want to spend the money for the physical token and don't have a smartphone? I see no sympathy for them.
Again though, the original argument was about it somehow destroying the economy and preventing people because of undercut wars (which already exist btw). It won't happen any more than it already does, and one perfect example for evidence is WoW with their mobile armory. As I said, that was an initial fear, but it was not at all a thing that happened. That is the main focus. Everything else was based on logic, which apparently people are defying... for some reason... I guess that's just the forums for you.

I thought this thread was going to be about the JP side, which got the post about players being able to romance the knights 12 and Aymeric and stuff...
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
there is the wedding thing and im pretty sure some couple were created in FF14.
and some do the wedding with people like that for the bonus not know who the person really is.
Isn't this April Fools already in game? We have Chocobo Porters

I don't even own a Cellphone I'm still using my house phone for everything. I have no need for a smartphone or a cellphone in my daily life
