Been spamming Garuda Hard and Thornmarch Hard on black mage, trying to get all my mahatmas done for Lilith Rod (yeah I'm late on that) while also trying to get the two handed WHM weapons. I've seen a lot wipes due to people putting damage on King Mog too soon, even when there weren't new people in the group unfamiliar with the mechanics. >_<

On the plus side, I finally got the King Mog Triple Triad card.

Just as a note, a tank not paying attention can easier trigger Memento Moogle by themselves. I've usually started just doing enough to get hate, then standing around half the fight. If I'm a Warrior, I'll keep Storm's Path up so I don't take as much damage, but that's about it.

Duty finder Shiva, wipe to ice brand cause healers died. Next fight, they continue to stand behind me and get hit, then rail me about how horrible I am as a tank... There is dps on the other side and all they had to do was not stand behind me, but no its all my fault and they all agree I am worst tank ever. Seriously, just move, I shouldn't be spinning the boss around because you don't feel like taking a step left and not messing up some dps' rotations.

Last week I decided to run A8 on Summoner. I recently got into playing the job (I mostly played Scholar up to that point, if I went for anything ACN), hit the ilvl required to run A8 and went in to see how I did.

It couldn't have been more horrible. Now, you might need a little context before I say more. My Egi was on Obey/Guard. Note that.

Anyway, we got our buffs but someone pulled and it *wasn't* the tank. Near-wipe ensues before a tank could establish enough aggro. DPS overall was low as well, as adds weren't killed fast enough and healers weren't paying attention (I got nailed hard a few times and died). It all leads to a wipe before we even hit the second phase (aka A6 redux).

Oh, and guess what? I (better said, my Egi) got blamed for pulling :/
Couldn't even defend myself before people left the instance.

I queue'd up again immediately after that, got a wonderful party that cleared the fight with little issue.

Just when you lose hope in the DF, you get an awesome group to play with

Did thornmarch HM recently via trials roulette as my WAR. My co-tank was another WAR that was likely new judging by the fact that his hp was literally less than half of mine. But there was no new player indication and everyone said they were good to go... so I started things off. Killing off the moogles was fine and I'm not sure who my co-tagger was for marking moogles, but it was kinda funny as we kept cancelling each other out. I'd put up a mark, then it'd immediately go down. I'd go to put it back up to see someone else did and I click too quick and it goes down. Was amusing.

But anywho, king comes out. I grab king and start walking off to the side... to see the other two moogle tanks coming for me. Ok, w/e no big deal. I'm holding... i'm holding... still have all 3.... wtf?! I look and see my co-tank chasing after the other moogles... oh boy. I'm actually having quite the roller coaster ride with my hp bar at this point and have to actually do some dmg so I can upkeep my hp. I write in party chat for the tank to please come provoke the king and I'll hold the other 2 tanks (as I've been hitting them for hp now). I see him mosey on over and then he just starts wailing away at the mog tanks... I look at their enmity bars... he's still not even a blip on the aggro meter... I ask him again to provoke king instead. Nothing. Come to find he never got the cross. Not the biggest of deals as my gear did allow me to hold all 3, but it was an interesting go to say the least.

two days ago was off tanking M3. Boss was at 5%, I was jailed and killed the add in there. Funniest part is right before I could use Clemency, I got mpked by Sizzled Beam xD

Just a heads up, if you target a mob and select Obey your pet will begin attacking. That may be what happened?

Your tank sounds god awful tho, it takes virtually no effort for them to get hate back on an accidental pull. Frustrating? Yes. Wipe worthy? No.

I never target a mob/boss unless I see a tank pull. It's what I learned early on when I started the game and was still working my way through MSQ's on Archer/Bard. Auto-attacks can be deadly (ha!).

I quickly figured out it worked the same way for the Summoner's Egi's, so I'm not likely to make such a mistake, especially when entering an instance where I'm 'new'. Thanks for the heads-up though.
