Chocobo Challenge

I think if people treated these more like a group challenge then a personal one, it would go a lot smoother. I've done a lot of these where everyone tries to pick everyone else off, ignores the NPC racer, unless it just happened to be there. Guess what, almost every single person lost!...herpaderps... Other times (rare as hell, maybe happened twice lol) I have actually watched where everyone saved their bad items (sometimes that is random luck) till the NPC racers were who their target for the item would be. The NPCs fell to last really quickly, and every single person got to complete the challenge.


Above is just really a suggestion to make these a hell of a lot less painful, I doubt anyone will bother

Time to recruit people to mindless grinding for perfection in their race chocobos! Sorry not to many people are doing the races, seems like everyone and their mothers came out of the woodwork on my server with the new stuff added. Really weird to see so many people here to be honest lol.... Illy must be empty O.o

Finally got it! Came down to changing my secondary to Speedy Recovery III and getting lucky with a potion along the way. It just took forever for said potion to pop in my favor and when an NPC wasn't already miles ahead. Barding's nice. Challenge was nice. Hard, but doable as long as you've put time into the bird.

I was able to beat the first 2 challenges with a pedigree 2 chocobo, but the 3rd one was way out of my league. I'm working on breeding better chocobos now that I understand it more.

Congrats! My only thought was that the challenges should help people get people to the max stat chocobo. I initially thought that the first challenge was too difficult - and maybe it is for when it is unlocked - but now I see that this challenge has really gotten me interested in breeding the best bird. My ultimate goal is Fenrir, I'm a little over halfway there already (been saving for a while), and this challenge will be how I do it.

Unless, of course, I win the Jumbo cactpot on Saturday.

They made 'max power' too overpowered on the final challenge. He must have 600 in all stats since he just flies by my chocobo like nothing and still doesn't run out of stamina. I've been trying this challenge for over 6 hours hoping that the right combo of items and weather would make a difference. But potions don't help, super bird don't help, u cant even use frenzy on him because that just gives him more stamina recovery, and even heavied he runs past me at 500 max speed. I traded my head start for speedy recovery 3 and that just made things worse. And of course there's no way to get head start back now since its not one of the books u can buy. my stats are:500 speed 350 acc 500 stamina 500 endurance 358 cunning with choco cure 3 hereditary fair weather bird rank 50 and 295 rating. I really hope they nerf max power or at least set his stats no higher than all 500's. Its just not fun at all.

I think the cunning is hurting you, as it as a big effect on the Tranquil Paths course. Also I think that bird might be foul weather, so if it starts raining you'll have a hard time. However, it's definitely not super fast, as you can see in the video I posted earlier I quickly pass him by hugging the corners (https://youtu.be/LHZJhW8pEP4?t=210).

i finished it now with my new chocobo. was very lucky with the breeding, to get all 4 stars is still very random for me xD i tried your build with 500 Speed, 395 Accelearation, 355 Endurance, 500 Stamina and 500 Cunning with Incrased Stamina 3 and Chocobo Vita 3 (can't change Increased Stamina 3 so easily). it still was veeeery hard. i was faster than max power, but i ran out of stamine before i reached the finish line. so it took while until i had perfect weather, did not get hit from everything and got a potion from a chest... far from 95% win rate, but doable.
