That's just because you are level 31, it gets better as you get higher levels and then at 60 you finally will find the glory that is Ahk Morn!

Seriously couldn't think of a situation Aero or Protect would even be used or better than other skills smn gets as it levels. You cannot judge a job only half leveled.

What could be more generic than a few tools here and there just borrowed from other classes? You seem to have it backwards actually. Ever heard the saying "jack of all trades, master of none"? The point is that it's better to master your own specialized tools (not generic ones) and become great at Summoner, not just decent at SumWarConjMonking. Get to level 60 and learn how to play with those skills. You will end up with more than you really need to, or sometimes, can, use. Summoner owns.

That's your issue with smn? Not the weak strange looking versions of the primals you control (unlike near every other fc games summoner)? Not the fact it's a DoT class instead of focusing on what should be the overwhelming power of your summon?

No it's because you can't cast Areo, another DoT.

You get somewhere around 30 primary stats in bonuses when you equip your job crystal. BRD's job crystal for example comes with 30 dex.

This is my first real MMO so correct me if I'm wrong but don't most MMOs keep characters locked by class? Also, max cross class skills is 5 on a job at level 50+. In case you were worried that you'd be stuck with 2 forever.

FFXI and FFXIV are the only two MMOs I have played/heard of that allow all jobs/classes on a single character. There could be others but I don't konw of them.

The SMN class becomes a lot more interesting as you get more abilities. By the time you reach 60, you will have your hands full with better things than those cross class abilities. The classes were designed with lvl 50 and 60 in mind. You are right that lvl 30 is boring and feels like you are missing stuff.

Rift has it for example, it is called souls.
