This is the problem, i have been playing mmo's for around 10+ years, and i am sick of the hand holding this game is offering.
Firstly, i am not max lvl, secondly if i get used to certain abilities and then those are taken out, it really pisses me off. That's your issue with smn? Not the weak strange looking versions of the primals you control (unlike near every other fc games summoner)? Not the fact it's a DoT class instead of focusing on what should be the overwhelming power of your summon?
No it's because you can't cast Areo, another DoT.
/head desk

Well I suppose you did obtain the first summoner action, level 30 ?
It's an incentive to start managing your pet more precisely ^^
You can train on that until you're 35, because you're in for a treat![]()

Now not sure if this was said in the thread but isn't the mrd dot affected by vit/str? seems worthless to use it as a caster. Anyway dont fret level thm up to lv 26 get archer to 15 and get swiftcast from thm and quelling strikes from archer and you'll be fine. O dont forget to use contagion before using bane, it increases the duration of the dots.

Oh man this thread gave me cancer
So you'd rather have a bunch of useless skills than be specialized in a class and actually get useful skills and deal real damage? You can't say shit honestly atleast til you hit 50 for one. Please if you're gonna scrub it up with protect and mercy stroke as an arcanist make sure you only do it in the open world, don't drag that debauchery into duty finder and waste people's time

From a class mechanics perspective there's really not any customization or flexibility (maybe some very minor things, but nothing I'd call depth). I think I understand a bit of the OPs perspective that taking something away never feels good and it's nice to have something to augment the limited toolset from 1-30. So hitting 30 and have it taken from you could be a bit jarring. But you get more interesting tools as you level that are job specific and you'll realize the flexibility/customizability was all just an illusion anyways.
This is offset by not being stuck to one job on your character. In a way you don't need a flexible job/class because a change in play style is just a button press away.

I kinda sympathise with the OP, as I sorely missed invigorate on my marauder, but thats the way it is, there are some abilities that jobs aren't meant to have, and the job system dictates which pool you can choose from

Those spells aren't very good except for protect, that one I agree with, but as a smn you get better things later and get access to better traits like Raging Strikes & Quelling strikes from archer. So i finally unlocked the Summoner job and i am disappointed.
As an arcanist i had spells like Aero, protect from conjurer ; Mercy Stroke from Marauder.
I had fun having 2 instant dots. I had a blast.
Now i only have 2 cross classes, as an arcanist i had 7.
WTF do you take them from me.
It really shocked me in the bad sense.
Why give so many options and then take them out.
I really hate that.
You are blowing things out of proportion and making a thread that is misleading "dissapointed in smn" you are actually disappointed with "class change". Every class loses something when they change jobs.
I don't like the thread title so I was forced to reply.
