This. Better worded than mine.Avraym's argument is that SE has seemingly created a system where it is optimal for everyone to belong to the same Grand Company. Everyone would then always enjoy the maximum drop rates. People belonging to minority Grand Companies may be shunned because their inclusion would cause a negative effect on the majority. You can say they lose their bonus, or that they incur a penalty. Either way you look at it, though, isn't not an incentive to break the mold and join an unpopular Grand Company. This threatens to further solidify Ul'dah's position as the primary city of Eorzea despite the new transportation.
I'm not comparing, I'm trying to make a point.
I could make the same point comparing it to every other mmo. Horde vs Alliance, Order vs. Destruction, The fight to be the rank 1 nation in ffxi.
The point i'm trying to make is its being done for greater reasons other than loot. Also trying to make the point, if it was something that was part of the game since launch, you wouldn't be complaining cause that pride would already have been ingrained. The difference between the nation pride in ffxiv compared to every other mmo is that ffxiv didn't give you that sense of pride from the beginning. Think of these updates as a new beginning for ffxiv.... A rebirth if you will.
Also try to not think of this as LS/endgame oriented content.... and when it's released maybe you'll understand
I understand where you're coming from, I really do. You just don't seem to understand where I'm coming from or where SE is coming from for that matter.
Too bad it's completely wrong. The only thing affected by GC solidarity is the low-level Ifrit fight. If you can't find four people across your entire server to do that with from your same company, there's something wrong. And twelve help you if your LS is trying to keep r25 content LS-exclusive and force everyone into the same GC just to get a bonus to r25 content.Avraym's argument is that SE has seemingly created a system where it is optimal for everyone to belong to the same Grand Company. I understand, They're trying to make the companies have their own indivual appeal.I'm not comparing, I'm trying to make a point.

Hence the salute. Hence the "Grand Company only".
I just don't agree with the methods.
Wait til patch is clarified. We dont know for sure if its only r25 or both. Patch note translations SUCK.Too bad it's completely wrong. for god sake, it's a COMPANY, they should be together and at least have their members-only bonuses
maybe pvp will be like company vs company and you wont fight ppl in your company, and SE is encouraging ppl to form and get used to company-only parties, for later use
i dont even mind if later the LSs would be in the same company
and go check the polls, not everyone is going to join uldah company :|
I am waiting. I'm just asking. Its a fair question, given the japanese thread mentioned R25, but all the english note said was:
"Those who defeat Ifrit in a party formed exclusively of members from their own Grand Company will earn greater rewards."
With no mention of R25 or R50, its a fair question. Less passive agressive plzx.
