How you chose your healing job.

I chose WHM as I enjoy "Pure Healing" / Holy classes in MMOs.

In EQ I mained a Cleric, and a Templar in EQ2. Aion I mained a Cleric. So WHM felt like a great fit for me.

I love the WHM aesthetic and skill set. Scholar doesn't appeal to me as much - I just can't get into it as much RP wise. I will level it to 60 to be a more versatile Healer player. (I had it at 50 before taking a break before HW). Also getting SMN with it is worth it since SMN is my preferred dos job though I've never been in a situation where I was asked to be a DPS. I will level AST as well just so i can play whatever healer role is needed.

I love my WHM though and it will always be my first to get gear and is the role I do all my story quests on.

I'm just using all 3 healers and use whatever whenever I feel like using. If it's for raids I usually adjust to the composition and to what healer is needed. Right now I'm a BLM main though. Before I was SCH for about a year and a half.

But right now I'm avoiding SCH a bit I guess. I'm just...when I play healer I really want to heal most of the time and I'm afraid I'll end up in CS more than I'll actually heal on SCH. Doesn't mean I don't do CS, it's just I wanna mainly heal. Not mainly DPS.

I chose AST. As a WAR main for two years, when it came time to try healing, I thought A) I want to pick something that's a little different, and B) I really like the AST aesthetic, with purple & light-green spell effects, twirling animations, traditional gypsy / divinator clothing, etc.

Astrologian as a whole interested me when i saw the first footage of it, plus the idea to use cards to buff my party sounded really exciting and honestly the visuals of their moves looked so pretty. I've been enjoying healing ever since and that's from someone who usually avoid the healing class in MMOs or other type of online games that might've healers.

Same. Tried to be a summoner, started with conjurer to help a friend, suddenly I was in love with healing classes and when I tried schola for the first time it felt like I finally found my role.

I always pick WHMs. Because they are divine like beings and an iconic job in all FF series. But I didn't choose WHM just for their raw healing power, but also because they can cast Holy as well. White mage uses pure energy for healing and destruction. That's why they are unique. And in FFXIV, devs done a fantastic job making what WHMs are all about. They are here to support you, but don't underestimate them Aero 3 + Assize + Holy + Stone 3.

Unfortunately, what I got instead was a healing wannabe DPS that deals more damage then I feel it actually should, but healing has devolved from doing your best to DPSing all the time and screaming at the tank for dying despite using CD's, so it all works out I guess.

Doing your best = keeping the group alive while providing DPS. Screaming at tank for dying = Failed player. Period. Healers are offensive in final fantasy, in every series. It's not Ace Guard or anything. What we have here is the case of player who refuse to think intelligently. Devs are making changes in accuracy. They are not removing CS. No offense, you should pick your team wisely.

the reason i chose WHM was because i was looking for the job that looks and acts similar to this character Shiroe in the anime Log Horizon.

I follow look/lore/style that suit me more at first but then I take every healer (every jov actually) to 60 and tried them in different istances. In the end I follow everything to choose a job I like: the style/lore I like more, the weapon they have, their skills and gameplay and how they sit in the overall game. I mostly use WHM which was my main in ARR now is DRK but I like to AST here and there too. I nearly never use SCH, I think it's a nice job just not my cup of tea.
