Well, something's gotta budge, then, since... (below)
Unlike Ballad, there's no way to NOT benefit from Foes when dealing magic damage.
Ballad contribution during downtime just not enough? But then what about your Salted Earth/Dark Passenger Foes?

I must have bad luck since whenever I pull my DRK out for dungeon runs and I get a bard they generally aren't using Foe. And they don't use Ballad either.

I guess an interesting change we could try is have the DRK weapon do both physical and Magical weapon damage. Benefit from both Foe and SE/DE.
I've been staying quiet and just watching the conversation go by, but I felt it necessary to correct this. Salted Earth does not deal magical damage, it deals unaspected physical damage instead. Don't ask me why, I don't understand it either.
Edit: It gets better, I just ran down all my skills against a dummy, Scourge's DoT is magical.

I actually think a lot of DRK's problems would be fixed by switching its cross class abilities from MRD to LNC. We lose Boodbath, Mercy Stroke, and Foresight. Foresight is really the only one I see as a loss, considering DRKs struggle with physical mitigation.
-Invigorate is nice because we would have a way to restore TP even when in Grit.
-Keen Flurry means more reliable and "on demand" Reprisals.
-Blood for Blood is just made for DRK. It fits in with its lore(sacrificing health for more damage), it gives it a better OT presence, increases burst damage, and gives you a risk/reward (5% more incoming damage for 5% more outgoing) option while in tanking stance.
These abilities provide DRK with greater sustained dps, greater burst dps, a more dynamic play style and greater up time with its best mitigation tool. Is that not worth the loss of Foresight? If i'm just being dumb and have missed something obvious I apologize, but i'm interested in all of your opinions!
I don't really have TP problems with Dark unlike Warrior. I kind of.. want to remove Parry from Dark Knight's kit altogether. It sounds like it was supposed to be a Samurai.I actually think a lot of DRK's problems would be fixed by switching its cross class abilities from MRD to LNC. I still just feel like a Vastly inferior warrior and paladin.

Awareness could always be taken over Invigorate. I think Keen Flurry and Blood for Blood would be the real advantages to the swap.
