Heh, fair point. We're one player, he's one player. I just walked it backwards from "DRGlander changed his job from WAR in the Heavensward CG" to "the Heavensward CG WAR was the same as guy as the End of an Era WAR, who did have friends". Darklander is still a WAR, ergo ipso facto columbo oreo maybe the whole group was duped. But maybe not

I feel like this ties into one big unknown - that even we have that piece of the puzzle, we can only see the reverse side.
We have a foundation: Hydaelyn says that the Source was split into 14 pieces (including our own) when she removed Zodiark from their original shared being. As far as we've been told, mortal life didn't exist then. It came later, created specifically because she "feared the moon" and His hatred of Her. On which world(s)? We're on the original world and we know it's teeming with life. But what of the reflections of the Source? Would She (and could She) seed the others? Would there be any reason to when all signs point to our world being where the barriers that must be broken down need defending?
If the answer is yes, the Ascians destroy millions, if not billions of Her children every time they successfully initiate a rejoining and re-collapse one of the other dimensions. That's a pretty big blow to the "maybe they're not so bad" theory. Seven worlds have been destroyed. (SO FAR!) That's a lot of death! Do we, as children of Hydaelyn, as players, as people just write them off as collateral damage sacrificed to restore Elidibus' proper path? I guess, in that case, Darklander's crew could be outside of this realm and still connected to Hydaelyn...
Also, what are the Ascians in this case? One representative of each world (seven of whom have now seen their worlds annihilated), each lifted from the shackles of mortal life and given immortality in Darkness by Zodiark, as he did for Lahabrea? With one white-robed Ascian from the realm in which Zodiark is trapped? Or are they from before mortals - from the Age of the Gods? The "are the Ascians the Twelve" question comes up over and over, but even if they aren't those specific entities, that doesn't mean they're not from the Age of the Gods.
But let's assume for a second that the reflections of the Source weren't seeded with life. Maybe they're elementally unstable. Maybe the shard(s) of Light and Darkness don't create a habitable plane. Maybe it's too close to the Source (lacking the planet/moon division). Whatever. Where the hell did the Ascians come from? All we've got left are various degrees of what mortals would call gods. But, if this is the case, the Warriors of Darkness would have to be from our dimension.
Or is the Truth in the gray? For one thing, I think the Gerun Oracles contain a hint.
...The
sea sundered in fourteen.
To the sea
s She cast Her children, for fear of the Moon.
But, it does look like their visual identities were chosen because we'd already be able to infer so much - that they were adventurers, that they were chosen by Hydaelyn, that they were at Cartenau, that they took up arms against the Darkness (until ... something).
Unless that's all misdirection...
Please look forward to it.™
