With Cross World PF, the anti-social circle will be complete.

I have my concerns about including a party finder that is cross world along with a raid finder that is also crossworld. Mainly, it will cause being social within the server community to be an afterthought.

I realize there is a need to clear content and shore up the dwindling endgame communities but this seems like an artificial answer to this problem. It will have people clearing content, but not making connections with each other, and not as trusting of the other folks that play the game with them. I'm afraid that social FCs and LS are going to be the ones that suffer the most from this change, I hope I'm wrong, but That is what I'm worried about. How are we going to keep a sense of community in the server if its going to be little more than a glorified waiting room for the instance server?

I like this idea along with a map where people on the same data center could potentially meet up

Perhaps a future housing area (inclusion like sail from the ports in each housing area to an island somewhere) or town where everyone could go meet/ hang out?

We know this can be done via PVP so it'll just take a bit of coding to implement then further map transition to another map.

Wait, you like the waiting room idea? I didn't. That is usually made through hubs like Idyllshire, and even then, people are just very isolated.

From my perspective this is very good news, as I'm stuck (full geared medium house) on a server where most of the players tend to be "rude" we'll say (Moogle)...

I was not expecting this from Square but now I just cant wait for it! Perhaps I will start making in game friends again. Im really excited!

Im sure it will be awesome. Lets be positive about it!

I'm okay with this, actually. Hopefully it'll stop people from fleeing less populated servers to the already overpopulated servers.

I don't really see this being anti social at all. I mean, you're putting yourself out there for other worlds to see in the hopes of you finding a party, which is something an anti social person wouldn't do. The main point behind the raid finder is to help people find like minded players with similar goals across worlds instead of having to transfer to another world (and ditching their friends) just to be able to clear content. People shouldn't be stuck with the server choice they made.

That's kinda of oversimplifying things. People won't be getting together in the same sense, and with chat in the instance the way it is I don't see how the problems of df won't be brought over to this feature as well.

And I'm aware of what it is meant to do, but with no need to connect with people on your own server, I worry about what will happen to the more social FCs.

I see it as a good thing.

Smaller servers tend to have "elite cliques" where if you're not a known top raider, you're left behind to deal with the mediocre players, many of whom are not at the skill level to handle things such as Savage.

It's hard enough to "socialize" when you're brand new to the raid scene

You can't exactly force people to "socialize" with each other on the same server if they don't want to; if raid people on your server don't mesh with you or your playstyle, then your options are very limited on how you can progress in raids short of a server transfer and no amount of socializing is going to fix it. How often do we see threads here where people complain about how no one ever joins their PF for a raid (clear or learning)? Is it fair to them that their server doesn't have enough people interested in doing raids? It's also not healthy for players to be transferring to larger servers in mase just so they have a chance of getting a static/group to clear a raid before the devs nerf it. There are other servers besides the largely known ones and they shouldn't be THE go to server if you want to get into raiding seriously. Raid finder would give people the incentive to stay on their own server.

You keep going on about the lifespan of "social FCs" quickly dying, but if that is the case, then perhaps your FC wasn't serious about raiding to begin with and focus too much on just social stuff. I think the raid finder would bring FCs of several worlds together since FCs in general tend to be more organized than random people in PF.
