We could if we were aloud to switch companies after the initial choice.

You go partying with your Grand Company Privates, no stories. What changes if you do that with members of a company rather than members of other companies?

I'm sorry, I'm not trying to flame you in asking this, but is English your primary language?

I ask because I'm not quite following what you're saying here.

As I understand it, you're asking what the difference is between partying with all members of our own Grand Company versus a mix of the three?

If that's what you're getting at, SE stated in the patch notes today that if all members participating in the Bowl of Embers rank 50 battle will receive "greater" rewards.

Trouble is, greater can mean more, better and/or exclusive. For example, beating Darkhold in a certain time limit earns you "greater" rewards that you otherwise will not receive.

So if that is the case, than those who choose a less popular Grand Company will have a more difficult time obtaining these greater rewards than those who go with the popular selection.

However, if it means only an increased amount company seals or something of that nature then it won't be as much of an issue.

It comes down to a matter of people wanting the best chance for the best rewards. It's why every shout for a pick up group for Darkhold runs in this case only wanted Conjurers and Archers.

If certain items only drop when all eight members are of a single Grand Company, then the popular Company will be the only one anyone wants to join.

I don't think it's too much to ask SE for clarification prior to making a decision we can't undo. It's not that they have to tell us exactly what the greater rewards are, just whether greater means more, better or exclusive.

    Ugh... sorry about that =D

Yeah you're rite, my main language is not English. But it feels good to be the only Victorinox among the other replicas in Mysidia =)

What I meant is: [Example] you join the Maelstrom. What difference does it make if you join the Immortal Flames or the Order of the Twin Adder by doing the Ifrit battle? You'll Always find people to party with, and it might be a chance to better use our Party Search/Recruiting tools, and most important, a way to know other players from your same Company, maybe building bonds of respect and loyality.

But as you bring out that point, I can say that one of those paragraphs is obsolete:
So if that is the case, than those who choose a less popular Grand Company will have a more difficult time obtaining these greater rewards than those who go with the popular selection.
because unless the Dev team lists how many people joins the Company, you'll never know its numbers, and you'll Always find seven people to party with. You'll not find them at day1 because they'll be worried about doing it as fast as possible, of course =)

Also, I think it's more rewarding and interesting finding about this greater reward by ourselves. Gives us that feel of accomplishment and knowledge among the others, and we can share our knowledge afterwards.

About the English thing... sorry, but I didn't receive serious English lessons after Highschool, so if you don't get something I write, just tell me!
