Hi Oohlalaheals,

This is just my personal opinion, but I believe Balmung is an exceptional server to call home. There's a reason the server is locked nearly 24/7 and everyone is trying to roll here. I've also heard great things about Gilgamesh for endgame activity but I'm mostly echoing what I've already heard (very little experience there). There are some notable things worth mentioning if you're considering moving to Balmung:

1. Legacy server
2. Unofficial RP server
3. Heavily populated

Obviously there are negatives to each of these, but I find these aspects together to be overwhelmingly positive. The economy is thriving (expect high buy/sell prices), towns feel very busy and interactive, and overall there appears to be a great community. My significant other and I are not particularly into RP, but I've enjoyed the atmosphere on Balmung; players tend to be cordial and mature. RPers seem to have very specific areas of towns and zones designated, so you don't really stumble into that if you'd prefer to avoid it. Endgamers seem to be in very healthy numbers, so I doubt you'll have trouble finding an FC that fits you guys. Collectively the server feels like a living world, a rare feeling I don't get often with a long history of MMOs.

Should you decide to make the transfer, let me be the first to say welcome! As of now, Zella and I are still homeless (also struggling to find a fit), but I believe we'll probably go the route of forming our own FC with other ambitious players (+1 to couples!). We are looking to keep our group small, collaborative and for players that share similar interests and playtimes . My focus is end-game content which she shares but also she also pursues crafting, housing, and other side things which I reap the benefits of =D. If you're interested in all that and the trials of forming our own little community, we typically play 6-11pm EST on weekdays and weekends... sometimes too much hahah, then again sometimes we do other things. Anywho this is becoming quite the rant, but feel free to contact me, happy to discuss more in-game or via voice.

That sounds... epic! I'm game for that assuming Ooohlalaheals is too. Zella and I are currently unlocking the Alexander Gordias and Midas raids. We've been running expert and regular 60 roullettes gearing up this week, I believe I'm at 202 and she hit 200 last night. Gearing up together and jumping in these raids as fresh meat sounds like...a wonderful disaster? .
