Not seeing many farm parties on my server typical as soon as I finish it they become rare because everyone's got their weapons.
Guess I gotta make my own, being lootmaster is sometimes scary.

Finally got the clear last night. Static did an improptu PF, and with just a bit more practice, we got it down. Farmed long enough to get weapons for all of our DPS—all in all, it felt great.

After my clear last Thursday, I had to go out of town, so didn't get a chance to farm at all until I got back yesterday. Got 5 wins last night, on my way to my first weapon, but I was very lucky because the bird dropped and I won!

Don't mean to bump an old thread but I'd like to apologize to everyone I've indirectly spoken of when it comes to not clearing
I just got hit with a big reality check yesterday when I tried out the Sephirot Extreme I said in my original post that I keep getting Sephirot Extreme to enrage
I can't even beat the dummy in 215 gear and I tried it again in my original 210 gear and I defintly couldn't beat it, keep always getting it down to 4% at most and this is a dummy that doesn't move imagine how bad my Damage output is when I'm moving around constantly? I've pretty much been carried by others.

So I think if I had optimal Damage for Sephirot EX in all those instances where we keep dying on enrage then we could have cleared.
Pretty much stopped myself from going to farm parties until I can beat the dummy legit.

Atleast you are aware. Usually when I look at dps and I see low numbers I try to gentle point out that people might want to try SSS to see where they stand before joining again.(Most won't, because they don't care)

Yeah I am glad some people care. I can on my DPS not even beat Midas NM (on those I tried for luls) and got always to like 1% left on those I wouldn't even attempt Sephi. I'd need to gear those up or try to learn rotations, which I am usually to lazy for... But I can almost beat A6S on SCH (too much pie and acc that don't come into account for the dummy ). SSS gives you a good hint but also if you constantly hit 1/2% be aware they are overtuned cause no mechanics... I guess my deeps are just good enough for Nm midas if mechnics done right.

Ive literally been doing nothing but sephi ex for about 4days (have been doing it for about 2 weeks but was doing stuff in between) and still haven't got my clear..Ive seen up to 10%. Been joining 'kill' groups in PF and they really havent been kill groups at all o.O with one group people were messing up on P1 (more than once). Ive even wiped on P2 cause the dps wasn't good enough (i do it on sch). Had a group last night who were getting to P3, but tanks missed the towers twice in row, people werent stacking correctly for the knock backs or moving too soon before the ground went yellow… I just can't find a group to get a kill Kinda thinking I'm never gonna get this kill tbh, too many people joining "kill" groups and having no idea what they are doing. I even had a co-healer, who at the start of P3 stood in the middle when the green orbs on the floor where expanding, panicked then walked through them dying cause of the stacks.. i mean cmon!!

I have cleared it once. However. . .

Between the possibility of death if I'm not at/near full health for every raid-wide hit (because Machinists have absolutely no defensive cooldowns and/or self heals), burning myself out from 2 full Sundays of nothing but learning parties, and getting left out of my now-former static's farming of said fight "accidentally" (that is, when you assemble the team, invite the missing healer via tells, then put up a "MUST HAVE CLEAR" PF. . . when I'm right beside you, among a host of other insults later), THEN every failed attempt at "farm" parties after, I really just want nothing to do with that fight now. It's become more trouble than its worth.

I don't want the weapons. Not a single one of them. Don't even like how they look. I'd be replacing it in a few more weeks anyways, so no point beating my head against a wall for them. I wanted the bird. Any of the birds really. But not this one anymore. Not after this and all the other bad attempts at farm parties, Sephirot or otherwise. Or worse, good ones that yield no bird whistles. I just don't care anymore. Not enough to drag myself back in there all for the low possibility of both the drop AND a decent roll on it. The song. . . I like it, but whatever.

It's not a hard fight. I've even had to evolve and push myself harder to improve as a MCH during that fight. But in the end, I'm just tired, frustrated, and ready to avoid/ignore "farm" parties for it. My single Fiend Totem will be happily trashed later today.

From my experience, many people CAN clear, but they need a "leader" to give them orders as the fight is going. Allot of people have bad situational awareness and slow reaction time. I have about 4 macros with an alert for upcoming mechanics like stacking for Yesod and getting ready for earth shakers.

The problem with this is that they get their clear with leadership and join farm groups without anyone telling them what to do and fail. It's hard to join a farm group when you aren't independant enough to do the fight without help.

The dummy's dps requirement is higher than the actual fight to take into the account mechanics that force you to move around.

Sephirot is a pretty lenient dps check. It's definitely not just your fault if you'e hitting enrage. Usually the fault lies with the people that die.
