    Nothing says some of his captured followers didn't wind up in the Shroud after the earthquake (or, since they were tree-like beings...become part of the Shroud...).

    Perhaps the other sacred trees in the Shroud are actually a product of his. Would certainly make an interesting connection between the strength of the Elementals in that region and the Eikon Sephirot.
