..when I think of the word "Roagafel" and when you said "Beefy" why is all I am thinking about right now is a nice juicy burger?
"Ah yes I'd like the Roagafel with cheese combo - hold the pickle"

Hahahaha! Good one.
Also, keep the discussion going, please. It's full of interesting tidbits and ideas.
What does the role play community think of crossbreed characters? Is it viewed as poor role-play?
Personally, I suspect the real reason we don't see much lore about half-breed characters is the fact that they'd require additional models and an overhaul of the character creation system in place.

I was thinking on how the only half-breed that for sure won't happen is Roe Lala...then I remembered Skitty and Wailord are part of the same Egg group. Unless SE goes out of their way to say "no" to any half-breed combination, I'd just go with "sure, why not."
Well, here're my thoughts.
A cross clan child is likly possible such as a Miqo'te who is both of the Moonkeeper and Sunseeker lines, or an Eelzen who is half duskwhite andnhalf Wildwood.
But the "races" of Final Fantasy XIV are actually different species. Our world's version of Racisim would actually be tribalisim in Eorzea like when a Wildwood looks down on a duskwhite or even, say, looking down on a Sunseeker because "All sun seekers are scum" would be an example.
But as for cross species, so far the only cross species compatibilities we've seen are Hilda her self who is not only The Only Hyur-Elezen we've seen, but the only confirmed cross species NPC in the game.
I personally view that as being sufficient enough to avoid the "Roelala" paradox being that, due to genetic similarities, Hyur and Elezen are THE ONLY cross compatable species in Eorzea . (We still don't know enough about garlen pure bloods to consider them yet)
This theory is kinda based on how real world cross species can produce a cross species animal such as a Liger (Lion-Tiger Cross) or Mule (Horse-Donkey) but thinks like a Fox and a Wolf cant. (Because Vulpins and Lupines are not genetically simmilar)
Like I said in my earlier post, I'd add Roe to that. There's a fair amount of lore stating at least Hyur-Roe pairings can successfully breed (the Highlander insult had to start somewhere...and it is a possibility that Highlanders DO have Hellsguard blood in them from some Midlander-Hellsguard breeding thousands of years ago), and there are at least two Roe-Hyur pairs in-game...and neither are really shamed for being interracial, so there has to be some sort of precedent regarding this pairing.
One's in Aleport (considering all the Roe and Hyur in Limsa, it makes sense they wouldn't be shamed, much like Hyur-Elezen in Gridania now. And I'm willing to bet there are Hyur-Elezen hybrids in the Shroud, they're just not story-important so we don't know about them), the other's in the Rising Stones post 3.2. Funnily enough, I think both Hyur are Midlanders, but the Roe are of different clans
However, Roe and Elezen may or may not be able to breed successfully if Hyur and Roe can; normally, the two races don't live anywhere near each other, so it would really only be adventurers making up pairs of them (which doesn't make for a good sample size, if they even live long enough to start families)

Speaking of which, F'llhaminn could very well be a seeker-keeper mix
She's got a Seeker name (and skin tone?) but with obviously Keeper eyes and fangs. Not only that, but she was in a relationship with an Elezen

I think she was as mistake name wise. She was named before the Miqo Naming conventions were cemented in 1.0. She has since been retconned into being adopted into a Seeker family and taking the clan letter, or so I heard. Moose can tell you more about it.

F'llaminn is a special case from 1.0 though. She was designed and named before the lore for Miqo'te was even finalized, thus leading to a discrepancy. Since there were already animations done with her though, the devs decided just to keep her that way rather than spend days reanimating all those cutscenes...this, she gained a uniqueness that stuck with the character.
Sometimes the design team has to meet deadlines and can't wait for the lore team. The opening cinematic of 3.0 even shows this, as the enemy dragons look like Hraesvalgr even though he's not the enemy of Ishgard. It's one of those things when one team has to get something done before all the gears are oiled by another team. Discrepancies are born in MMOs.

I really want a Lala with a tail, would be so cute!
I love the official forums, they tell you to use the search for thread about what you wanted to talk but when you use it they judge for necro a thread.
To me, like the Garlens, I still don't possess enough information to make a judgement on that one.
And while I'm not saying it's impossible, the insult has always been a slander in regards to The Highlanders' large stature and has never been supported outside of that insult.
But at the same time, Highlanders are rare outside of Thanalan and Roegaden are not noticeably common anywhere save for LaNosca. Though that may be more due to their sea faring nature as well as there are said to be reclusive Hellsguard clans in Abalathia's Spin which is Dravanian Territory.
