This wouldn't fix anything, sadly. People have been using marking macros tied with their CC for a long time they still just don't pay attention or don't care. Can we have an option in pvp where if an enemy gets CC'd (sleep/bind/slow/stun/etc), a big indicator shows up on top of them (think marker 1/2/etc)? They can stack on top of each other or have certain priorities. Like, you party has the healer marked as 1 but the blm casted sleep on the healer so the ZZZ marker replaces 1. Healer breaks the sleep and the 1 marker is back on the healer.
The target debuff status are tied to the enemy health bar so increasing their size increases that too. It's also stuck to that health bar so the debuff status is generally stuck to certain parts of the screen if you want to be able to see that health bar. Plus you generally have to have an enemy targeted to see them.

Having a random marker that differs based on person using it as to what it means compared to a solid, universal agreed to by the players and the developers marker are two completely different things.

Player used macros can be indicators but can also be suggestions. Unless the group is premade and is voip or choses to risk their safety in pvp with typing this can send mixed messages. Also (unless I'm not up to date on this), the macro would toggle the marks on and off on the same targets even though you're applying the same status as 'on' over and over.
What I'm suggesting is merely a bigger flag for enemy's CC current status that some players can choose to use instead of some kind of fix for 'anything'.
