Hello,

I am very concerned with how these new items might effect the overall image of the game. I will try to state my points without trolling too much or being emotional. I am a designer myself and as far as uniformity goes these things just do not belong.

The Weapons
Based on the video most of us have seen I think that the new weapons are too bulky, tacky looking, and are out of place.

All of the weapons themselves are huge, fat, and clunky. It would appear that they seem from another game almost. When I saw them they made me think of WoW, Aion, and other games as such. It is almost of a Korean MMO design. I think they devalue the game's integrity because they just look cheap and unsophisticated.

It's as if the designers of the weapons couldn't think of anything better and just decided to settle for the sake of getting the Ifrit battle released on time.
"Oh we will just slap horns on everything and make them glow! Because it's Ifrit! It Must Be Horns!".

The worst of all the weapons for me would be the pugilist and archer weapons because they are so giant. The THM weapon looking like PS3 Move Controller or Phallic entity. They all just need more development time.

What are other people's thoughts on these items? When i ask other in game it seems i get like 75% negative feedback on them and then 25% of people actually like them.

Please reconsider these SE,
Especially this coming from a Pugilist, we feel neglected.

EDIT: It was brought to my attention that calling this a petition might be a too aggressive word. I want to say this is more of a discussion than an outright petition. I apologizes for any confusion about this thread. Please contribute to this thread with useful commentary on whether you agree or disagree and what should or should not change.

These new weapons design are like a copy from other mmos like aion tera wow and any other free-to-play mmos
nothing new
I'd rather have normal sword with little glow mist with color cover them than having using ifrit's horn to fight
but the way they glow when you go on active mode is good
please SE dont follow other mmos too much just be yourself
I love ff series designs but just only because this my faith in SE is getting lower and lower....

And I see a lot of the same people here saying the same things they said there. You're point is understood but you keep fighting for something that it seems the majority either 1) don't care because they realise this is a game or 2) actually like the fact the weapons represent the mob you killed and there for is a status 'symbol'. SMH.

For example Reinheart, who has done so much for this forum in translating and who personally I respect as a contributer to these forums in many positive was said this on your linked page;

I'm here to play Final Fantasy, I'm all for what old Final Fantasy design/arts gear. Realistic still yet Fantasy like.
If it's all just plain realistic all the way I would just go play another history war/battle game... But same time I'm not asking to making it too fantasy like some other MMO's, has to be well balanced out. At least this is for gears/weapons.

As for map design I say go full on Fantasy on 'some' areas

So why you think your trying to convince those of us who just plain disagree with you to change our minds, he has more likes from his comment than your post here AND the post you linked to. Just saying.

To be honest, their forum structure as a whole is pretty bad. But yes, that's what the forum is for. Centralised means of generating and collecting feedback for developers use when developing the game. Some people "bitch", some people "criticise", but it can all be used when improving the game either way.

You know what's annoying? Some people acting as a forum police (some with just 20 posts under their belt!) trying to repress the complaints because they are annoyed about it.

Face the facts: The developers try their best but they are not perfect and will make mistakes. If nobody is pointing those mistakes out for them they can not improve their product.

The only thing hurting this community are the people trying to shut the criticism down and accepting the status quo that could be improved so much.

It's especially annoying when these people act like any new information should be regarded as the God's doing that absolutely must not be criticised in any way. Some things they do are for the better, some are not, and we need to point out the things that are not for the better. They will then make the final call. Not you or me.

But Betelgeuzah why I see your point and I can agree with 98% of it, you also can't try to shut people down with their comments. It's all a matter of your POV of their post(s) and their POV of your posts(s). It's all opinion. Some have a better way of expressing themselves via words and others just rage but the pendulum swings both ways. That's the only reason why I disagree with the other 2% of your post. But that's my pov/opinion and my right to do so. While I can't police the forums you can't either.

Dosen't have to fully go, I think the bottom of the bow looks great. Also, I do not mind the other weapons.

Yes, damn anyone with their own opinions, that will change their minds. I like that we as a community have conflicting ideas, it gives the devs lots of things to build on.
