Probably won't add it until a later 3.X update, not like you need it though. I'm only slightly melded on my crp and almost pushing 2 star crafting. So I'd say that having grade 5 available might cause some of the script gears to be rather unnecessary.

Agreed you dont really need grade V materia, but do you really want to pentameld with IV's and III? If you know control IV goes around 300k and III 70k on my server, just to replace them when you do need the extra stats from grade V's?
Because thats what you need to do on a number of pieces just to reach 3 star. Or you could indeed use red scrip gear but lose out on some cp. In my experience the red scrip gear is just filler gear till you can get properly melded ilvl 170 gear.

They don't want to cheapen the accomplishment of DoL/DoH that pentamelded tier V in the past, because that would be like nerfing old content, thus taking away from those that have already done it. Just imagine if they did that for battle content, giving you a damage/HP bonus when taking on old content...

it would be really usefull for people who dont have the right to just get all materias from all FC ships like me, just enjoy spiritbonding for now.

For many pieces of DoH/DoL gear, Penta-melding with predominantly Tier IV materia is necessary just to EQUAL the stats on ilvl 180 Red Scrip gear. If you actually want to EXCEED the scrip gear, you're most likely gonna need Tier V. If you want to reach the stat caps, you're almost always going to need Tier V - and in a few cases, will need to over-meld with Tier Vs.

SE has been ridiculously tight-fisted in regards to DoH/DoL Tier V materia. I can only guess at what their intent was; maybe they wanted to give rich crafters something to do with their money? If so, they failed to understand how rich crafters got rich in the first place - they got that way by making smart investments with their money. Buying Tier V is NOT a smart investment. It costs millions, and is not at all necessary to craft anything in the game.

The high cost and rarity of Tier V all but killed the market for crafted ilvl 170 gear - after all, why buy it at all, if you can't meld it to the point where it's better than the stuff you can just buy from an NPC with red scrips? While sales of materials like Griffon Leather and Adamantite Ingots has been pretty vigorous, actual crafted gear sells at a snail's pace. Tier V materia is so expensive, it might as well not exist at all - and if it doesn't exist, there's no way to make crafted ilvl 170 gear worth having.

Even now, with three-star recipes out that have stat caps that would encourage the use of melded gear, folks are turning to Craft/Con foods to reach those caps, rather than meld and use CP food like usual.

SE should have added other avenues for obtaining Tier V with 3.2, but they did not. Well, the increased availability of non-DoH/DoL Tier Vs may help a bit, since that means more materia that can be processed into DoH/DoL by Mutamix, but it's still going to be a long while before melding with Tier V materia becomes economically feasible - let alone overmelding.
