Diurnal for PvE and Nocturnal for PvP
Diurnal for PvE and Nocturnal for PvP

Um, they do stack? Or am I brainfarting? As far as I see our regens do stack with a whm, it's just with another ast that they don't.

Yeah, I mis-typed. I meant Astro. Again though, two white mages can stack regens (even more than that), yet we can't? Seems a bit unfair.

That is so true, together with the noct/adlo conflict. But hey, we needed something "bad" since this job is so awesome![]()
Depends on the content and wether or not I have another healer and what job they are. In 4 man dungeons with longer pulls I will use diurnal, but in 4 mans where trash tends to die rather easily I will use nocturnal. If I have a drk tank I'm also more likely to stay in diurnal as well. In 8 mans I will always choose the sect that gives opposite effects of my other healer. If I don't know the content very well I will use diurnal, but I prefer nocturnal though tbh, especially in PvP.
I could never get the hang of noctural sect shielding, I always stuck to Diurnal. But that was prior to the major AST buffs so I always felt like I needed the added healing from the Diurnal HoT's.
I like noct way more! Almost insta shield ftw!
It depends on which class the other player is and some fights its better to have one sect over the other. In the Void Ark (unless run with another AST) its better to use Diurnal Sect at the poison boss. So to answer your question, I do not have a favourite, because I switch between sects depending on the situation.
Both have their applications, it depends on the situation. Aside from the obvious what healer I'm paired with in 8man content, it usually comes down to length of fight, if 4man content. longer boss fights I go diurnal, but short trash packs, or if a squishy, non-CD-using tank, nocturnal
