I'm glad that SE is making crafted gear strong and more relevant, definitely a step in the right direction, but I personally feel the mats are too easy to obtain to make gear of this caliber.

Thing is, the materials are only usable to people that have expensive crafting gear with high stats, that also happen to have a specialism in that class. In practice, the materials for these recipes are supplemented by i170 items and a specialist stone. The devs probably felt that if there was this expense/investment in addition to complex materials (like the i160 and i170 items) then the price of the i220 items would make them unreachable for combat only people. Not to mention that there are different groupings like Aiming and Fending. As far as I know, they've been wary of having strong crafted combat gear for this idea of accessibility. I'd say it makes sense you feel that but I think it's better for combat stuff to be cheap physically, as the value is coming from the investment made by 3 star mastercrafters.
