'Cept you had to work towards getting teleport scrolls and abilities or pay for teles and then had to choco to places too. Anima is free teleport to pretty much anywhereSo...what about MP based teleportation in XI or warp/teleport scrolls and rings? Its really no difference, and certainly not...cheating. And like i've said before, the Chocobos help to get to places we've never been, places that are far from nodes/crystals, or just exploring areas that are out of the way from the norm. Airships are basically like the ferry, and soon we'll probably have content we can ONLY get to via Airship.
Or maybe even different ferry routes.
Sorry to break it to you... but who cares.
This is not XI! It was a great game but taking away mobility in a game of 2010 is not a way to bring in subscribers to make sure more than a few are paying for a game we like so that we can continue to play it many years from now.
Also, I played and loved XI for years. I love a lot of things about it, but I don't think removing teleportation/anima in FFXIV because of I like FFXI system is a good idea at all.
Not that I agree with his particular view on the situation the ammount of debate it sparks makes post like this questionable.
It's obvious alot of people care, some want it taken out, some want it unlimited, and others want it controlled. You really should care about the anima system, one way or another and not cast your eyes down on people who might not agree with you.
maybe I can do the same here as I did in another thread about teleportation
explain to me how anima harms your own personal game experience in a way that does not involve a lack of self-control, I don't want analogies, I don't want arguments based on extreme or ridiculous hypothetical situations, I want an explanation on how it harms you personally but not as a result of a lack of willpower
I'm not casting my eyes down at anyone. I think anima is fine the way it is, and I don't understand why some people want it completely removed. It's like they want to take other people's options away, and I don't think that's fair. Not that I agree with his particular view on the situation the ammount of debate it sparks makes post like this questionable.

Well written. This is 100% what is happening. It silly and selfish. thats all it is. Do not like anima? then walk. I will be porting all the way.

moderators dont like my posts, many get deleted because i speak up and just say what i think.
oh dear god please stop asking for anima to be removed. its never gunna happen for god sakes
Saying that nobody cares is casting your eyes down from above because you obviously think that your thoughts are the proper ones.
Great that's your opinion, some people do want to take away peoples options because they feel it makes the entire system more rewarding. I personally *fair or not* think content should be more challenging and have reasons for people to not want to skip it.
Anima has it's place but I think as it stands it's far too free of a system for my liking, and yes I believe in content that takes time to do including travel time. But thats MY opinion I'm not going to tell you it's the defacto opinion.

Another wonderful topic about adding restrictions to gameplay elements that do not affect others. You know, if you're so worried about teleporting taking away from 'immersion' then how about stop using it?
