You can never satisfy every gamer. A new set comes, some people will love it, some will hate it, most will be meh.
Be glad that there are actually NEW models, and not just recolor/texture of old ones....like the new dungeon set for drg, that is pure white and boring version of aery set.
You're never gonna like every new set you need to get, your only option will be glamor, that will never ever change; just use whatever you like, until something better/new comes along.
I agree though that the Ifrit tank set is kind of meh, and the PVP set is hideous (i know ppl that love it) the Eikon set looks better, so i'd use that.
And then there's the thing with using gear that looks good on your character - not all gear matches every look, it's the same with hair-styles, and matching colors (almost nothing looks good on m-roe, because everything is designed for Hyur i guess)

The eso gear for white mage wasn't much better. Especially on a Roe. The new gear does look awesome on some races Male and Female.

But that's why I glamour everything lol.

I think, for me, it's the tights and boots that make it look really weird. The way the skirt is split to above the waist accentuates the huge hips and thighs on the male Au Ra model and just makes the proportions seem really off to me when combined with the tiny bootlets. It's definitely not as bad as how it looks on the Roegadyn, but to my eye it does look pretty ridiculous.

But hey, different people like different stuff and that's what glamour prisms are for. :3

You're right, which is why we look better wearing almost nothing!

    See? An improvement already!

I don't get what you people are talking about, the Shiva set looks super hot on male characters who aren't too bulky like midlanders, miqotes, and elezen. Roes and lalas never look hot to me, so whatever. Also, my wife loves it on her male lala, but I don't know what even. I think that set was aimed at us female players, both the male and female look. Gotta have that equal opportunity eye candy!

The Ifrit tank set just looks bad on men. The exposed upper chest looks hot (get it?) on female non-lala characters, imo, but on the male version, for a reason I can't comprehend, they exaggerated and emphasized the exposed bits. It's like they went, "This looks a little odd on men. Let's highlight that!" What makes no sense to me is that the new tank PvP set has the same exposed bosom thing on women which looks fine, but the male version just lacks that bit and also looks great. Why was it done so differently for the Ifrit set?

The Ifrit crotch window is just terrible and stupid on both men and women. It totally doesn't belong.

Can we have some solidarity for this post please? Like... I main BLM. The i220 crafted set probably has the most metal I have ever seen on a piece of Casting gear, because most of our stuff are robes and skirts and stuff like that. Which is fine, but I would prefer to at LEAST have an option to wear some plate mail.

It's amusing that Highlanders and Roegadyn look best in either next to nothing at all or in "tin can" outfits.

Honestly, I would like to see at least a few "magical tin can" outfits at some point in the future. Tanks have all the heavy plate armor looking gear, why not give casters a light plate armor appearance?

I totally agree with this, most of the cloth looking stuff looks malformed on male roes. Most of my glamours are half naked, it just works.

I also have an issue with some gear not really matching the job either. I wasn't happy with the ninja void ark gear.

This is one of the only "flamboyant" pieces of tank armor they've ever introduced (and that's ultimately subjective anyway: I think it looks fine). Really, we've had too much full armor ever since HW dropped, in my opinion. The heavier stuff frequently looks strange on smaller races, so I'm glad that they're trying some different styles.

The Midas gear introduced in this patch is fairly heavy, as is the crafted set, and of course let's not forget the new Allagan Replicas, which are classic heavy armor.

One set that's "flamboyant" doesn't equal a trend at all. It looks pretty good on everyone but male Highlanders and Roegadyns, in my opinion. But that's the thing, most armor sets look really good on some particular race and gender combinations and awful on others. I'm incredibly jealous of how good the Roegadyn DRK in my static looks in a lot of heavier armor that doesn't work on the smaller miqo'te frame.

It's all a matter of perspective and taste.
