I was finally able to clear it this week and only by having connections. I joined a farm party where a friend vouched for me reaching enrage already. Practicing the fight everyday for two weeks I was pretty confident in my abilities. So low and behold they let me in and we cleared on the second pull.

My advice is try and find friends that are at farm status, and join their groups. If one or more people can vouch for you hitting enrage/<10%, then you might have a green light and get a group of experienced players.

    P1:
    1) Use 1f2p-opener, then ruin2+deathflare can be used as soon as you have to move out of the three puddles.
    2) place shadowflares clever -> when on the edge for those jumps, place it more to the middle so you hit him too when he gets pulled back to middle.
    3) Use ruin3 [i]often]/i] espicially with a bard
    4) when moving back to middle U can use virus after first AoE to cover the 2nd one + tankbuster + cleave (only if sch doesn't do it or didn't do it earlier)
    5) delay third stack of attunment aa much as possible, so they last until after you're spread out for Ain+Ratzon.

    P2:
    1) DoTs only on big ones, while burning adds with ruin3 (alternate targets), painflare and deathflare.
    2) try to carry over 3 stacks of aetherflow for 2nd opener. If not possible get attunment to 3 with the last hit on the last add. You can use then ruin2+deathflare when you have to move.

    P3:
    1) u can virus sephi shortly after earthshaker+yesod and cover da'at+tanktowers
    1) use DWT, regardless if aetherflow's still on CD, when the two tank towers appear (and the first AoE without buffs go off)
Ofc after you position yourself to the place where the blue pushback circle will be. Else you're probably forced to use it during pushbacks, which is not that good.

Honestly, I'm so over this fight, I'm starting not to care if I ever clear it. Phases 1 and 2 are a breeze, but once we get to the wind/add phase in phase 3 (right before the hand swipe), it always goes to hell.

Yeah I have noticed that is when most people seem to fumble it. What we did was have healers in the middle and either go up towards Seph or back towards wind while all dps stay on the right side of wind. When the flash goes off they switch to the opposite side and tanks can bring the adds back to help with the storm (granted only 1 or 2 strikes) and allow mass dps on the adds.

Hmm, do you happen to have a video of your strategy? I'm willing to try anything with my group to get past this part.

I looked back over the footage, looks like these healers stacked with the dps and moved with them. I recall originally having healers in the middle for the sake of Medica but I forgot during this phase we had a healer each focus a specific tank.

I run with Rena Ryuugu (A.K.A. AlphaWolf) pretty often and we are often in the same boat together. We get as far as 3% enrage wipe, over and over and over and then we haveto leave they clear and then wont run with us afterwords me and him have easily timed out this fight 30+ times or more. It recently has made me so frustrated i didnt play this past 3 days. and just got on last night for a few moments. Its so simplistically simple but some how we always end up with 1 (or 2 dps down) and even if i manage to burst the storm down we just never have enough dps to actually kill Seph EX he just knocks us off and we start all over. (this is not to take all the blame off me as i have done unmentionable a couple times... didnt see earthshaker and wiped the party)
My other biggest issue is the massive amount of people who wont shut up during "clear" parties.

I've been to enrage before and I've still not got my clear yet even though I ask for enrage or atleast 1 loop experience, I've seen Sephirot at 5% getting kinda frustrating. Sometimes I load up a save state in Final Fantasy VI just beat the fiend there, it's kinda depressing. Should I just give up and wait for a 230 weapon?

Waiting until you get a 230 weap is one way to go about it, but honestly, if you're consistently hitting 5%, I'm under the impression that something's just wrong with how each group member is doing dps in those phases. Are you using two lb3s? We usually get two before he summons the second storm

You brought up a great point, unless you have a regular group you run with its better to get into a group that's on farm level, in a fight like seph ex there's not much difference between being up to clear and being up to farm really since there's nearly no RNG.
