I'm pretty sure in the days of cavemen, one caveman wouldn't complain to another caveman because the bone he was using to club wooly mammoths to death with was too big...

Actually, no matter how proportionate they were, this thread or a thread like it would exist just because they glow, if not for some other unnecessary reason. That doesn't mean there will be a thread for everything. For example, if the weapons weren't so oversized I am pretty sure people would still find them cool, but there would be no negative backlash as there is currently. People would like them, some more, some less, but it would only come down to personal preferences. Such is not the case here.
^ That is what I want to say, but I know better. You clearly surf these forums quite a lot, and also do not play the game nearly as much. Therefore I think my reaction can be adequately summed up as this.
To you anything not positive and optimistic would be automatically a backlash.
It certainly makes the matters slightly worse in this case. More than a sum of its parts.Actually, no matter how proportionate they were, this thread or a thread like it would exist just because they glow, if not for some other unnecessary reason.
that's what i've been saying this whole time. some pple think XI was the first and only title in the series...
hint: XI = 11 in roman numbers...
Whatcha smokin' over there, I'm holding onto a bastard sword right now (that I own from being a trained combatant in this weapon style) and it weighs at least 8-10lbs, and my Sensei, Master, Maestro, what ever you want to name him, has one (that he uses to teach the style that weighs around 15lbs and its a monster, and its historically proportionate to the weapons of that time period)Originally Posted by Firon
I said this in the other thread so ill say it once more... Just because something looks big does not mean it weigh's a lot....Example Two handed swords they actual weigh in @ 5 pounds "The more you know" *shooting star and rainbows*
That being said yes bigger does not always equal heavier, as a big balloon isn't as heavy as a big bowling ball (this is known fact) but if you take a dense horn and put it on a bow it will feel heavier, also the fact that the bow looks "top heavy" makes it seem like it should be even more cumbersome to wield than if the big part was on the bottom of the bow.

maybe i should have picked a less rage inspiring title like "What do you think about the Art Design choices?"
.....I created a monster.
Here's a great idea.
Let's all load up Final Fantasy X-2, and all of those who think the weapons featured in it aren't suitable for a Final Fantasy game shout through out of their window through a megaphone "Not good enough for Final Fantasy." for each weapon they think is wrong.
If you get arrested for noise pollution, you're wrong in your assumption.
