I appreciate what you are saying but to me, an avarage player, hardcore raiding and utter top tier is nothing something I am going to bother with. This review was aimed at casual players like myself but your opinion is appriciated.
Why all the hate on someone leaving a review for the game they played? Is it just because they said they like it and they're so obviously wrong about their review because the norm is to hate on the game here on these forums? I feel like that's it.
I'm glad you enjoy the game.![]()

lol true that was my intention! Though the threads be updating so slowly and I was bored.
I am at my forum limit now anyway.
His review did not touch on normal mode either. However, I would say that Savage and Normal modes are quite different that cater to different playstyles, interests and players. It is reviewing all aspects of the game the major difference between Savage and Normal modes of things is that Savage is much more highly tuned and is more lethal to characters. It's still largely the same fight and experience. You don't need to have done the EX and Savage content to review the game. EX and savage content is optional content that is an intentionally much harder version of existing content. There's literally no reason to require that a reviewer run EX and savagae content unless they are specifically reviewing the top tier raids.
I don't think you need to have done EX and Savage content to review the game, I think a thread titled "Overall Review of the Game" should include every aspect of it. In this case, if you haven't personally experience it, phrase it as such and do some research. For example:
"While I haven't been in Alexander Gordias Savage yet, a large number of players seem to have hit a wall of the 3rd boss encounter. This sort of large gate has caused many statics to give up and is considered by many to be problematic for the raid community." There done, touched on, did a bit of research etc.
Otherwise, you could just state the scope of the review. Instead of "Overall Review" -> "Review of the 50-60 Leveling Progression in Heavensward"

This is the most hilariously passive-aggressive thread I have ever seen on this forum. I love it.
I liked the review. Hits all the notes needed to inform casuals like me as to the quality of the expansion. Then again, I intend to get into the hard raids and stuff eventually, but if the team put this much effort into the quests and sound design, I'm willing to bet they put a lot of effort into the raids/dungeons as well.

Great to see you're enjoying the expansion OP. I just wanted to correct you on the following though:
These patches aren't filled with just raid content. There is loads of content for casual players (such as you describe yourself) and it seems a shame that you're dismissing it all just because it came in a patch rather than in the base expansion.Well to be fair, I normally only mmo expansions up to the level max and then just play casually until the next one. Usually the big story moments come in the expansions themselves and not the patches inbetween however I am aware there is some story I may have missed but fortunately, that is what wikipedia is for. Other then that, there arn't really anything new apart from raid content and top tier stuff.
The recent 3.2 patch contained some of the biggest story reveals to date. Do you really mean to just go look that up on wikipedia instead of just playing through it as you would normally? I'm struggling to see where you've gotten this perspective on the game from.

Yeah, I understand but I mean the raid content I usually don't do, all the patch content I usually do in my old time. This review was just a base review for Heavensward commenting on the aesthetics mainly of the game and story up to a point where the levelling progression ends. I may do a review of the intermediate stuff as well but I would have to play that first.Great to see you're enjoying the expansion OP. I just wanted to correct you on the following though:
