Oh here I thought this was going to be about crafting mats or furniture.
Stop holding onto your old gearsets, for starters. If you need it again and it's not something the Armoire or Calamity Salvager has, just go farming.

Let me be more specific,, Canadane can't change mob mentality. But we're not talking about incentivising old content (though a valid concern,) we're talking about storage issues.

During ARR I used a Sipahi Turban from WP and AK in my glamour. By mistake, I turned it in for GC seals thinking it was a duplicate. I've been trying to get another one ever since. Off and on I'd run WP solo at sixty and I'd sometimes get those dungeons in roulettes. On the last week I've been hitting it harder and I've run WP 19 times so far this week without seeing it drop.
This is just one item, from an easy soloable dungeon. Imagine how difficult it could be to get a piece of gear again from one of the old 24 man raids or even a HW dungeon where you rely on queues and competing against other players for the drop.
We need more storage slots because for many of us it isn't practical to play the game otherwise. When we make progress, we need to be able to save that progress. Tossing out a piece of gear that I want to save for glamour is paramount to throwing away hours of my time. I spent those hours to gain that item, losing the item is losing progress I've made in the game.
A true paladin... will sheathe his sword.
