Remove "Playguide"?

I find myself slightly with Nek on this one. The pop up is bizarre, even if there is a way to remove it. Consider that the option unchecked by default is "open upon area change".

Why in the name of god would you need a pop-up link to a website spamming on your screen every time you change zones? If you're going to use a browser window for extra information on the game you are playing, can't you just find and bookmark links yourself like a sane person? And that's not even discussing that the "play-guide" isn't a very good website for information, in my opinion. I have 6 different FFXIV related bookmarks, and they all contain better information not contained within the official Eorzean database website.

This really should have been something they left in the launcher. The only reason to add something like this to the game was if it included enhanced support, such as opening a specific website page by selecting an "examine online" option when clicking items.

To be fair, it is kind of hidden and there are a lot of options. Nektulos did ask in the OP "There an option to remove this when you start the game?". Question answered. / Thread, let's move on instead of starting an unnecessary flame war.

How I see it is that the option is in the list of other pop-up infos and therefor not hidden. It is in the right place.

However I, an experienced player (I'm almost at the 2 year mark and have over 3k hours clocked up on this game on Steam), thought "Oh, there's no way to remove it" until I saw the post highlighting that you could. Now if I, an experienced player, thought it couldn't be removed, how many new players are gonna be confused by it?
