All of the Ascian names are from Ivalice lore, too; saying they're from Ivalice doesn't really say much at all.

I agree with Nalien that some being primals and some being voidsent is a bit irritating. Consistency would be nice.

On the subject of things I want to see in XIV. . .Pandaemonium Warden and Absolute Virtue, even if only as dungeon bosses and references.

It would be one thing if FFXII's Espers were entirely unique, but there's an issue with Espers like Mateus, who is named after Mateus Palamecia, the canonical-but-never-uttered name of FFII's Emperor. Do they go for the XII reference, or acknowledge what XII was referencing? Then there's Exodus, who's name in katakana became Exdeath in FFV's translation. (And that's aside the whole other tangential mess that, with very few exceptions, Esper/Eidolon/Summon/etc. are all the same word in Japanese, that gets rendered differently every time in English.)

Do both. Exodus is Exodus, but we can still reference ExDeath with him. Give the Elementals another special tree, with it sealing an evil spirit, that we investigate. Plot twist, Allag sealed a Primal there, and in Allag times the Twelveswood was know as the Forest of Moore. Bonus points if Krile comes along for that ride.

Complete side point, somewhat related to Primals; We got Kirin for all the pony farming, what do we suppose we'll get for all the pigeon farming? Quetzalcoatl perhaps? I'd scream Valefor had the Doma Kids quest not already got me hyped for that... Perhaps they'll tie the two together though... (and then comment on how some silly scholar named a class of Voidsent after the legendary creature, to drive my Cuchulainn speculation?!)

My personal guess is that for getting all the pigeons we'll get Suzaku. Would make sense, given how Kirin and Suzaku were connected in FFXI.

And then we're get Primal Dragons, Adamantoises and Tigers next.

Admitably that would be awesome to get the four symbols as mounts, but it would depend on if SE can make them compatible with all the features for mounts that are gonna be introduced.

Well, Turtles already have fart powered propulsion in Eorzea, so at this point I no longer question the abilities of Eorzean Fauna when it comes to travel. Next thing you know we'll have magma monsters that swim. Or some one will be riding atop a primal of some kind.

We have turtles, crabs, and fish is Lava, but a creature made of molten magma Floating across the ocean would scientifically turn to stone and sink. Maybe die too since it's a living being.
