Raids are very forgiving for slowcasting Stoneskin II.

First you Sprint ahead of the group to the boss arena, then when you see the last party member appear on your minimap you start casting. They will reach you within one second of Stoneskin II being cast.

Yeah, I almost never waste a swift on SSII anymore, I just run ahead, or position myself past the treasure chest after a boss fight. If people run past they don't get it, and it doesn't bother me, they just go further down my healing priority list.

So what are you saying? Don't bother getting swift for a whm cause you can just not care and put ppl down on your priority list cause they ran ahead? And therefore don't bother getting it for raises cause if they die it's their own fault? o_O Way to go?

I'm sharing this just because it was awesome. Leveling brd and doing cutter's cry just now. We get to the chimera, rest of the party dies at around 50%. I proceed to solo the chimera from that point and killed it. Yay kiting.

Well I just had the opposite of a bad mentor, I had someone rude to me instead.

I was doing my Mentor Roulette and got Ultima, I told them that I hadn't run it in a looong time so I didn't remember everything 100%. I said orbs needed to be picked up and I was pretty sure they were split, I told the tanks they needed to tank swap at 3 stacks, and that the fight was pretty close to the Prae Ultima. So off we went.

I took the first orb to the face and died (naturally), then informed the party that splitting was needed. Well no one wanted to split orbs with me the second set, so I sac'd myself for progression sake since we had 2-3 newbies. After we wiped I told them that we needed to split orbs, and off we went again. Splitting went good until the last 4, I asked the tanks to use LB since we had a couple DPS with double weakness. Last four orbs went off and someone started freaking out that the orbs did damage saying that I should have said so sooner... even though I did. .-. And I even said we needed to split it. Sigh.

Third pull we're at <10% and we're once again really slow with the final four orbs, we got 3/4 so I pop sprint and run into the final set of orbs just as they're about to collide (phew). And we cleared! Props to my AST co-healer. That wasn't a horrific run, but it wasn't that great either. orz

Just had one I thought was pretty hilarious. Ran Midas 4 the tank I am with is a Paladin (me as DRK) we have about equal health so I ask if he wants me to MT and he says yes as he only has done this once (so have I but its simple). Let him know to provoke at 1 stack we start going, I get my stack he provokes and down he goes. Immediatly provoke it back and popping massive cool downs I wind up with 2 stacks. He takes it and drops to I'd say 100 or so HP. Gets healed up and we go on. Next phase I take the one that does the 1h/2h cannon, he pulls the 1H out and I see the DRG and MNK standing right next to me, I panic and run to the left and they follow me and proceed to get mad. I don't know much about DRG/MNK but I thought only ninja had a skill used in front, however they sat next to me way longer than I liked. I will say at this point we had people randomly dropping to the ground like crazy even before this phase except for healers and me.

Move on the phase 2nd group with no issue. Final phase I provoke and tank it, no issue at all. After they split and do their crazy "WTF" attack I see provoke go off and he runs to paladin, who is swiftly bitch slapped and knocked unconscious. We power down then the 30sec warning pops, we end up clearing with 1sec left. Left with 0 commends.

It's what I understood from your post. The whole "If people don't watch where I am, I don't watch for them" mentality. Isn't that what you said? O_o I'm confused.

If they decide to run ahead while I am casting it, when I have already taken steps to ensure I am a couple seconds ahead of them on a 5.8 second cast, then yes, they drop down my priority list. They obviously don't care enough to have it, so I will prioritize those who make my job easier. I am not there to babysit a dps who is only going to have to stop and wait for the tank anyway. If someone cannot be bothered to work with the team, they are definitely of lower priority than those who do to me.

But no, I do not waste a swiftcast on Stoneskin II, why would I, swift is better used for rez, holy, or emergency heals.
How you take that as:
