It's not a reflect though. That's the issue. The attacker just takes pathetic spike damage.
Calcabrina's Brace is more true of a reflect then what your idea suggests. But if a copy and paste of Warrior's Vengeance but for magic damage is what you want by all means.
I would rather have more interesting skills like a magical vengeance than a game breaking skill that would be nerfed to unusable after its release.
You are just copying Warrior though and giving less mitigation for it. It's just like how Shadow Wall is a crappy Sentinel. How is copying a skill over interesting?



Eh, if you're going to reflect stuff, give it to a tank in the form of a 30s cooldown and be done with it. Having it be a spell with a long duration and giving it to someone other than a tank creates issues.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

Swtor has a reflect ability for one of the tank classes.
It's a very powerful defensive cooldown in of itself because it's basically 3 (5) seconds of immunity (the only type of damage it doesn't reflect are melee based special attacks which is the least common for the most part) to a lot of enemies on a 60 sec cd WHILE dealing damage back to them. It can definitely work as a mechanic for tanks. Maybe if they make rdm a tank they could have something like this and make it work or if they go with samurai tank it could go for a counter style of tanking where a portion of the damage is reflected back to the attacker with a cap of some kind in place.Saber Reflect: Reflects back all direct single target ranged, force and tech attacks back to the attacker for 3 (5 if specced for it) seconds. The damage done by each reflect is capped, and the cap raises with each new rank of the ability.
