Is it a SCH, a WHM or a AST

So I've returned after an extended vacation (356 days worth) and am interested in knowing who's the preferred healer for what now, I remember WHM kinda had the monopoly on alot of dungeons over the SCH and am curious now where each stands.
My preferred healer has been SCH, and I have been re-educating myself to new mechanics ect. ect. However with the AST and spell changes I'd like to get an idea of who shines where and when. Insight of any kind is welcome.

The common consensus is that schs raid mitigation, emergency healing, mp management, consistent dps and fairy healing, make him somewhat irreplaceable. On the other hand, as long as the content isn't bleeding edge dps, and no mechanic that can hit above current hp totals, ast/whm fit just as well. Buffs to asts shuffle/cards (now redraw), enmity, and mp management should have stopped the stigma by now. Whm still is the almighty Aoe healer and has the highest burst dps between pom, stone 3, aero III and assize. All three healers suffer from accuracy, whm the most, but with the addition of melding, the hit rate can approach or pass 100% on current content.

Ok so the popularity contest over what healer for what dungeon is over finally? Just dont kill party and all are genuinely accepted without unnecessary greif to not using the elected healer for a particular dungeon.

I leveled both WHM and SCH both to 60, while only used AST a few times, but in term of efficiency, AST rules in low level dungeons with "Essecensial Dignity" (somewhat equivalent to lustrate) and "Lightspeed" (reduces cast time by 2.5secs).. Those 2 skills are really come in handy in healing the tank even in the lowest hp possible in addition to AST cant almost never run out of MP in those level dungeons despite tanks messing up badly.. Then comes the draw card ability which buffs party.. Those are things that either WHM nor Scholar doesn't have in low level dungeons..

In level 60 dungeons, i find it that SCH is more dependable with lustrate and dot, making the damage comes surely while not ripping the enmity of inexperienced tanks.. WHM's playstyle sorta requires tank to be able to play decently which is somewhat sorta uncommon in random dungeons runs..

But in my experience overall, most players arent choosy over which healers serve the best in some specific dungeons as long as everyone's alive and well.. More commendations to heals who juggles DPSing as well..

I don't remember a popularity contest ever, but perhaps I wasn't playing at the time. Currently, dungeons are designed to be completed with the lowest skill possible -> so all 3 healers are fine and it is more important who is behind the wheel than it is what car they are driving.

I was active over a year ago, and I would run into the occasional group that wanted a WHM only, and a few of my Healer friends ran into the same, though I suppose I was a bit excessive in calling it a popularity contest. It just felt that way on certain days people would tell me to go WHM instead of SCH when hoping in for groups or as a stand in for a static.

Just seems weird from my perspective. Approximately one year ago, my FC mates and I were discussing how SCH was the job to go with if solo-healing. So 4 mans? SCH. 8 man farms with 1 heal? SCH. 8 man with 2 heals, 1 SCH 1 WHM.

most of my FC and friends were of the same so when we ran into the WHM groups we got really confused at times, it could have just been my particular world. who knows :P but i'm just most happy that SCH has survived and stayed almost the same. still less than thrilled with Dissipation.

Its a wonderful skill D:< In level sync content I hate being without it almost as being without broil. :CC

Haha, I've another thread in Healers. in which I've vented my frustrations at Dissipation :P logically i can see at times the potential mechanical benefit. but thematically...
