Sure they can. We never had any gender equality debates while the game actually had gender equality. They didn't start until the game broke its gender equality and started giving half its players more stuff than the other half. As long as that continues, debates about it will continue. Once they fix the problem and go back to the equality the game had on release, then we can stop complaining about it.

Except there IS no problem. If you don't like the way gear is handled then fine, that's your right. The way people treat it as a "problem" that needs "fixing" though makes everyone on that side sound incredibly whiny and self-entitled. This isn't real life, where the issue isn't literal ability to wear clothes but rather issues of acceptance, ignorance, and a whole string of very serious things. No, this is a case where some players are upset that they can't wear the outfits they were eyeing. Using "gender equality" for such a trivial thing? Come off it. Again, if you're not happy about the outfit split and you want to get word to SE that you want it to be changed? That's fine, that I have no problem with. But the *attitude* on display is utterly absurd. Again, SE owes you *nothing*. For the record, my position on the matter is that I think all clothing/gear should fit all characters full stop.

The only people with absurd attitudes are the ones telling others to stop discussing the game and the gear it provides. This forum exists for discussing the game, and there are currently some real issues in the game with gear availability. These discussions are as important as any other forum-relevant discussions, and as long as the issue persists there's no reason for anyone to shut up about it.

The only basis for considering it unimportant is that it's just a game, but everything in these forums is about a game. It's a game forum. If discussing a game is too trivial for anyone, then they shouldn't be here in the first place.

(Now if people actually had opposing views, that would also be fine to discuss. But for the most part we aren't seeing opposing views. The opposition we've seen the most is just saying "Don't discuss the matter". That's what's absurd.)
