A7 runs, woo!

First off, my bad mistake. I queue up into A7 as a tank and it's a party in progress. I hit accept and notice they didn't even hop down the tubes yet. Seems the tank left after seeing the new player message, followed by every other DPS and healer except one. That one guy stayed until the party filled up. We get to the boss and the fight starts, sadly the new guy gets thrown into the first jail and attempts to break himself out, dies, no biggy, and a few other mess ups causes us to wipe.

On our second attempt, things are going well, and we get to the part where Shaona (that damn cat) starts roaming the field a second time. While I am dragging the boss away from the True Heart, I notice Uplander Doom loading up, so I go and attempt to hit my cooldown button...

Only to fat finger and hit the LIMIT BREAK BUTTON INSTEAD!

It take me a min to register that this was MY fault, and you can only imagine the things being said in the chat log. I felt so bad I had done that, and it took everything I had in me to be sure I didn't make not a single mistake again after that. Luckly, we cleared and I'd apologized to the group for my horrible error ><

Run #2, fight is going along quite well. Not a error to be seen, that is until around 5%, then I am targeted to be put in the blue jail. I get taken and figure "5% left, fights in the bag!" As I am getting pulled towards the jail, I notice a healer, a single healer standing in the square...

I am dropped in, and the healer is now stuck with me. Two adds spawn, and I figure I need to recover this, so I pop cooldowns and proceed to tear thru one add. The healer however, does absolutely nothing, besides running into the walls of the jail, not throwing a heal out at all. We both get frozen lock multiple times and causes both of us to die, leaving the adds free to tear thru through the rest of the party.. wipe at 2%...

Did M4 (A8) yesterday for the second time and got to see the enrage party wipe. ^_^ It was an interesting run and thankfully people kept going through a couple of wipes until we completed it. I was running as my AST with a WHM co-healer. After one of the wipes I was asked why I was running in Diurnal with the WHM instead of Nocturnal. I explained that it worked better with my full tool kit of abilities and that I didn't think it was a problem as our Hots can stack. Thankfully I had a good group and they explained that they would prefer some preemptive shields to some of the bigger damage bursts. So I switched finding no fault with their thinking though more than a little worried as I've found I tend to go through MP faster when in Noct as I don't have as much experience with it and since I've only gone into A8 twice now was not 100% certain about when to time my shields. (This meant I tried to at least maintain the shields on the two tanks) One more wipe then we cleared.

Kudos to that group for making it work and talking to me.

And on another note I do like the new Midas fights and bosses.

I did an M3 in progress yesterday on Warrior.

...I don't want to talk about it. The only good thing was I got my spring about 50 min later.

I was farming Ravana ex via DF last night (since PFs are outta the question after 1AM on brynhildr. XD) The first few runs were actually very smooth, which surprised me a great deal considering they all contained new players.

This came at a great cost, however, for after those glorious runs (which did not drop any birds btw.) I had, what I might consider the worst Ravana ex experience I have been a part of. The funny thing about it was, the party was all very pleasant about it the whole way through up to the "abandon Duty" motion. lol

So the fight starts off and the party is informed there is a new player by the tomestone bonus message. One of the tanks politely asks if anyone needs info on the fight, but no answer. We proceed with the fight and the other tank that didn't say anything, takes MT. He starts pulling ravana all over the place, but we, ya know, manage...... We get past the AOEs and stack up on Ravana, like you do, and our MT decides he is gonna stand out away from the group and get hit by the ifrit charges.

We all shrug it off and continue with the fight. Our "lovely" MT continues his trend of pulling Ravana all over the arena and specifically into the ranged players like myself and the healers. (It was like he felt that he needed to include us softies in his ways of meat shield.)

We manage to pull through the gana phase despite many raises, but as soon as the walls broke, all hell broke loose. People fell off the edge, not enough people were able to stack for the split damage and.....wipe.....

So the OT tank that spoke up earlier asks MT, "you main tanking again?" Mt "Srry" OT "It's ok, do you need any advice?" (Silence) Mind you the group had chipped in with some advice through out the fight as well, like "stay with the party during Ifrit charges."

We start the fight again and our MT pulls Ravana all over again, getting many DPS killed and working the healers like mad. We stack up on Ravana again so we can move to avoid the charges and AGAIN our MT is hanging out away from the party and it really genuinely seemed as if he was purposefully running into the charges this time. The group somehow manages to get all the way to the sword phase, but I think we were all so suprised we made it that we all just derped and started making dumb mistakes. I myself, decided I would run in the same direction Ravana was charging instead of away from it and got myself killed, and others ran their AOEs too far and ended up running off the edge. XD so......nuther wipe...... The party didn't even say anything. The OT asked AGAIN "do you need help with anything?" to out MT to which he replied "I'm new......"

We tried one last time, With our tanks switching MT and OT. Sure enough, our former MT went out of his way to get hit by charges again and it seems as if he even tried to take MT back randomly at some points. We wiped at the gana phase again and that was when the motion to abandon duty was passed.

So I dunno if there was a language barrier or what, but our MT was simply not communicating with us and seemed to either not understand or simply not care about the advice given to him. I am heavily considering that we had a troll tank with us. XD I mean he really seemed like he was aiming Ravana at the ranged players and getting hit by his charges on purpose. lol

I am glad we abandoned it, becuase if the bird had dropped somehow and that tank got it, I would rage quit so hard! XD Eh, I got an entertaining story out of all this. :P

EDIT: Just to be clear, I have nothing against new players, but there is a difference in being new and being new and refusing to cooperate.

This one didn't make me cry or laugh, but rather nervious. Reminded me of old days in LoA and ppl spam clicking the teleporters cause they're too lazy to go up the stairs -_-

So, lvl50 roulette, Snowcloak on my whm (I play on ps4), got a pld with a crown, a nin who was new and a brd who was, idk, let's say she just was. I thought, cool, we got a mentor in the party for the newbie, I don't need to switch my keyboard on. Right? Right...

Btw I was the only one greeting everyone as we popped, talk about player etiquette and such. Nin in /say informs us he's new. Anyways. Tank pulls as if we had a blm army (of course cooldowns are for chickens), brd had tp song on, what for idk, cause everyone had like 80% tp the lowest. This will go on the entire dungeon. Anyways. Tank pulls the wolves up to the gate and stares at it. I think, he will soon remember we need to kill the wolves for the bear to pop and kill that to drop the key.
He turns back to the wolves, and as the last one dies, proceeds to spam the gate. I kid you not when I say the message came up like 7 times. I sigh and pick up the key and we carry on.
Everything fine, enter boss, I supposed mentor tank would explain the fight since he stood there for a while. Nope. Runs in, and as spriggans pop, the nin starts killing them. One survives, gets turned into a snowball, nin kills snowball. He-he...
Suddenly the tank is showing the boss his back and gets frozen. "Let the snowballs grow more". Ah, he was typing. We carry on, I help kill the ogres, some snowballs survive and we stun the boss. Even the nin accidentally tossed a ball to the boss when all he wanted was to kill it bless him. I mark the spriggans with the no-attack marker in hopes I didn't have to switch on my keyboard but nope, in the end I had to so and said "Dont attack the spriggans, they need to turn into snowballs", nevermind, boss was dead.
Tank stands there, I guess he was deciding between the juicy chest drops, and the brd proceeds to aggro the gobbues. No problem, tank finally comes and we carry on.
Second boss, not a word was spoken, luckily there was no trouble, nin picked up the bombs soon enough and we were on our way to the end of the dungeon. Not before the tank spams the gate again a few times after killing the aevis while I watch him and sigh again (not in game, irl mind you).
Nin gets his map achievement, watches his cutscene, and the tank... yep, he runs straight in. I was debating with myself to stay outside with the nin until he finished watching but he got out in time (grrr).
Again, nobody says a word, I prepare the line "(nin name) come hide here with us" in the chatlog, launch it when it was time and down he goes :/ brd also gets caught but survives. Nin gets a raise, gets hit by the next lunar bite and somehow survives to LB.
Fenrir dies, and I say "(tank name) you really should get rid of your crown" and wanted to explain myself further but sadly he leaves.

I wish I could just rip his crown off his lazy head...

I remember doing level roulette to level my whm i believe, I got brayflox nm. The tank was um how would i say this.......... Was a gladiator, no sheild, had like super weak gear for blm and had one of those cloaks that wont let you equip a head piece. I'm usually a very understanding person but.............. Not enought for that. So I click " leave dungeon ".

I am emetophobic ( fear of vomit ) and I have this really bad thing to where my mind instantly relates something it sees to taste, touch, texture and smell instantly. So that second-to-last boss in Void Ark is a pain but I muscle my way through it. The sound effects don't make it any better.

At the same time I kind of applaud how Square gets it to be that disgusting. But damn it's rough.

Some people will probably think it's silly that a phobia can arise in-game but it certainly can. It's nice to see someone who's understanding about it!

Ran Antitower for the first time last weekend. Made sure I said "Hi, first timer here" before we started...with (of course) no response from anyone. We wiped twice on Ziggy (took me a sec to figure out how the growing AOE's worked), and the tank started getting pissed. After a couple rants, he said "WTF DPS, you guys suck. Is this your first time here or something?" To which I replied, "Yes, hence why I said 'first timer' before we even started" He immediately rage quit.

We got a new tank a couple minutes later and beat it on the next attempt.

I really have nothing against you, but before running anything you don't know, you should always watch a video so that you can defend yourself in any situation, just a little respect to your team mates . You say this like it's a crime to be new to a duty. And well, is it so hard for someone who knows the duty to say two or three sentences about mechanics?

A5N for weekly. New co-healer and new tanks, ask DPS/OT if one of them can handle/help me with the bombs since the other healer is new and I'd rather be safe than sorry. I also hadn't had much experience doing the bombs and I didn't want to cause a wipe (THE FORESHADOWING IS REAL).

No response.

Other healer has a hard time while I'm gone because... I don't even know. I was too busy to pay attention to what they were/weren't doing or what the tank may or may not have been doing.

End up struggling with the 3 bombs and decide to sac myself to save the party, figuring the other healer or at least the SMN would raise me.

Nope. In fact the other healer just gives up completely with 90% mana. Doesn't AoE heal, is hardly healing the MT, and just lets both tanks drops and watches the boss demolish the party.

Guess who gets blamed?

Yeah, me. Because we would have "been fine if I knew how to do my job correctly and didn't die". I pointed out that I had asked before the fight even started for help, and that we would have been fine if I had gotten a raise. After about 5 minutes of being yelled and sworn at, I got vote kicked.

Now I know why my friends said not to queue for that fight as a healer. I don't intend to do so anymore. Thanks DF.
