Cetaphobia.

Crikey, I didn't realise IRL fears could do that to people in-game. I'd try and work with her, maybe see if I could get her on Discord so I could try and keep her pepped up so her fear didn't take hold too much. I'm the sort of person that likes to work with people through difficulties mind you. I'm generally a patient and forgiving guy and for someone who is genuinely fearful to the point of being frozen in a game over it, I'd have a lot of patience to work with them. Similar story with Levi HM, when I first did that I almost projectile vomited due to the waves and swaying of the boat. And I don't even get seasickness that easily ¬_¬

I was quite astonished by this lv55 monk in Halatali NM who got the map achievement when we reached the final boss - first I thought they just never completed the map, but after someone asked, they told us that it was literally their first time in this dungeon. Level 55 and never been to Halatali, just... wow.

Yesterday evening we decided to do some M1 (A5), until everyone got their piece (us 7 premade). First we gave another player 7 commendations, sure it would make them faint. Then during the bomb phase, I am not sure if it was me or my fellow teammate, but we both wanted to throw the same bomb..... And the bomb landed right in the opposite corner, in the middle of all the players. I expected some rage but we all laughed. That was one of the funniest reaction 'OH SHIT A BOMB CAME FLYING'

Ran Antitower for the first time last weekend. Made sure I said "Hi, first timer here" before we started...with (of course) no response from anyone. We wiped twice on Ziggy (took me a sec to figure out how the growing AOE's worked), and the tank started getting pissed. After a couple rants, he said "WTF DPS, you guys suck. Is this your first time here or something?" To which I replied, "Yes, hence why I said 'first timer' before we even started" He immediately rage quit.

We got a new tank a couple minutes later and beat it on the next attempt.

It happens to me too. I suffer heavy migraines, the ones where my brain literally shuts down and I don't even understand language or can't recognize people's faces. This leads to a side effect, I have very very bad vertigo. On planes it's a nightmare, I feel literally as if I was falling during the entire flight, and have to grab myself to the seat in front. In games, I can't have my character jumping from cliffs or anything high. Like that cliff in Hullbreaker island? Yeah, have to look away while my character falls. I feel total simpathy with those who suffer rl phobias or similar ingame. Hang in there!

Yup, some people's phobias can get pretty bad.

First time I did Bis Ex, my Teamspeak was playing up so I turned of the music to be able to follow my FC mate's explanation more easily. Without the music the ambient sound for that fight is terrifying. Bismarck doesn't shut up at all. Even with the music that'd play havoc with Cetaphobia.

It could be worse though, you got her through it (not hard I know but still). That duty failed scene wigs out a lot of players without phobias.

I did an M3 in progress yesterday on Warrior.

...I don't want to talk about it. The only good thing was I got my spring about 50 min later.

Doing leveling roulette and we get Brayflox with a tank who is very clearly new to the whole thing so we try to help him along. He starts out not very responsive at all, unable to hold threat, etc. We back off a bit, and continue trying to help (politely). He starts to respond a little, always in /say

I think he might have been on console without a keyboard. After we finally finished, I asked what server he was on and he said Ultros (where I have another character). I offered to switch to that server after the dungeon and offer some pointers. He agreed. I logged over, sent him a party invite and he didn't accept it. I sent him two whispers and didn't reply to those.

I can only assume either he stepped AFK, or didn't know how to respond to whisper or accept party invitations. Never got to offer any tanking advice which he very clearly needed as he was playing MRD at 35 and didn't have his soulstone for WAR. Didn't have any cross-class abilities. Really wish I could have helped the guy.
