Humanoid Avian Race?

There have been playable beasts in Final Fantasy in the past. I know that people might not always want them as an avatar but the idea that something unusual might be playable one day is not THAT out there.

I sincerely hope we can get something like the original Au'ra concept art one day. I don't mind "pretty" races but variety is always nice.

I was honestly excited about the original Au'ra concept, but I knew that wasn't going to go live.

People wanted Viera a hell of a lot more and all they were are really just humanoids with bunny ears, claws, and strange feet.

The way I see it, a beast race may be unlikely but if nobody ever asks for one we'll for sure never get one.

Of which only one (or two, but most certainly one since you can buy claws from Gold Saucer) of will be put onto the playable model.

Why on earth would anyone *want* to be a Harpy?

Why? Why you ask? Because they're ferocious beasts. That's why.
I wish FFXIV had playable beast races that does not resemble a hyur =.=

We're not the demographic with the most weight on their design decisions, though.

If you could convince a rather large group of their JP player base to campaign for us, however, by all means go ahead!

That might be true, but i would love to run around as a Goblin. Talking to NPC’s, who will make snide remarks because of my origin, but slowly start to open up as you progress as the Goblin of Light.

Wouldn’t it be a hilarious sight, if the tank (or better yet, the healer) in your party is a Goblin?

I can see them doing. Instead of using hands they would have talons, feathers placed around their chest and shoulders, give them birds eyes and maybe in some sense work a beak into it. Au Ras are already designed very similar to this.

That would be pretty funny but can they even do magic?

Goblins are indeed one of the more friendly beastmen but they're only common on La Noscea same with Qiqirn, and in Dravanian Hinterlands far as I know. But then there's the Illuminati...and those camps full of hostile goblins scattered in the realm.
I'm not sure what the other regions think about them though. Seems like Limsa Lominsa is more open to beastmen races than the rest.
