I stopped reading at "...doesn't really compare all that well to RL..."You know... That "solution" is getting really annoying. Because while this is a game and doesn't really compare all that well to RL, to me it reads like a small-scale version of, "Don't like that the guys at your job get a slightly higher salary than you? Have gender reassignment surgery! Then you won't have that problem anymore!"
Alternatively, it's the way people "treat" bullying. Instead of solving the issue, and dealing with the bullies, they move (or recommend to move) the bullied person to a different school. That way, they're not bullied anymore!Yay! Problem solved! *splashes everyone with bucket-loads of sarcasm*
It... doesn't work that way. People play the character gender they like to play as, and should have equal opportunities for glamour inside the game. After all, one of the statements made at the start of ARR regarding racial stats, and how men and women (of the same race) started with the same stats, was that they didn't want people to feel as if their choice of character gender would have an impact on what they could do in the game. Then they implemented glamour, and apparently threw that sentiment out the window.
