As long as the gender locked gear has an equivalent for the opposite gender, I don't really care.

Usually we get "Female" and "Unisex" so this is a step up.

I read that the reason they did this was because those were the three most popular races and genders so they started on those first. I'm not sure how accurate that is but if you're a free to play game I suppose you're going to cater to the largest majority of your player base.
