Eh. Just sounds like Unity chat from FFXI. Most people do in that is type . or some gibberish to get their daily over and done with (say a thing in Unity chat).

While I probably wouldn't have gone straight to kick mode, I do think that novice chat should be reserved for novices and the mentors who want to help them. There are dozens of other methods that friends can use to get in touch with one another, so it's really unnecessary to use it for any other purpose.
With that said, the smart thing to do would've been to simply state that it is not the ideal place for high level conversations. Too many people use the kick as a weapon, and as a mentor they should know better. If you can't be civil and mature about the proceedings, you don't deserve to be a mentor.
The real problem is there's no Endgame Network.
It's called create and join Linkshells ><
you think yourself end game and didn't know that?
-_-
wow yeah,i was already iffy on whether or not to register as a mentor. but with this....nah. if i wanted to listen to a bunch of elitist people do algebra with their rotation crafting and stroke their epeen id just stand in iddlyshire for an hour, read a strength tank thread, or join a void ark run. shame, this COULD have been a helpful system and if it was enforced to work with the intention we thought they were going for id happily join up. who doesnt like helping bright eyed hopefuls?
thing is most peoples drive to be helpful stop at having to dig through a crap pile to do so
Frankly, in this case a plain old warning would have sufficed. It's brand new, the rules were barely defined, on a first case basis GMs should be issuing warnings so everyone gets what the limits are/aren't. Of course, if your response is to give the GM a mouthful, then good riddance
As far as the chat goes, I have never got into the channel once, so I don't know what it's like overall. I do know, however, that to get into the mentor roulette you need to have done all content, including exes up to sepirot, certainly not just sprout stuff - and I also know, even being a mentor, I have much to learn, so I think dicussions about higher level things should be OK as well. Really the only "off-topic" should be MSQ discussion.
Lessons from Diadem - give players free reign and it'll be used the most efficient way... lessons from mentor channel - give players free reign and they'll use it as another chat channel... well the 100 that actually get in...
And they now have fodder to rebuke any comment of stop the off topic we're trying to help a newbie or something....
(super serious)I don't know what to put here so I've put this here as a placeholder until I figure it out.(super serious)
Recruitment code if you are starting out: FTB8JBQ5
you don't need to do the EX primals, just everything up to the hard mode variants.Frankly, in this case a plain old warning would have sufficed. If I die, forgive me. I used to be a Dragoon.
